Star Citizen is an open development, crowd funded project from Cloud Imperium. Consisting of 2 games, Squadron 42 a single player, story driven campaign putting you in the middle of the Vanduul attacks as an up and coming UEE Navy pilot, and Star Citizen, a highly detailed
first person MMO set within a persistent universe where there are no limits. This includes, space, and ground aspects, massive spaceships with full interiors and interactions, a full dynamic economy which reacts to the players actions allowing for anything you can imagine.
It is all being built on the StarEngine (a modified version of Amazon’s Lumberyard Engine).
Please bare in mind that this is heavily WIP and in an alpha state in which much of the foundational tech to make it a reality is still being developed. Both games do not have set release dates yet but you can play the alpha build for the PU MMO which makes consistent progress
with quarterly patch releases throughout the year.

I am an independent content creator and a fan of the game, I am not paid by Cloud Imperium however I do accept ships from them to giveaway to my community but this will by no means influence my opinion or what I say and believe about the project.

  1. Has anyone seen the video here on yt where a group of players put a lot of dead bodies into an A2, stacked them up on the bombshafts doors and flew over Area 18 to let dead bodies rain?

    We already know what players will do with it. Break the game. 😉

  2. It's about time they finally finished the fire sequences, I was beginning to thing we'd never see that. Now we have a use for the fire extinguishers lol, if it's being shown in this much detail, it should be ready to go.

  3. I really like the ship explosion graphics and sounds. There better still be explosion chance as a critical roll on something like a power plant or fuel cell.

  4. We can have a "CLEAN UP DAY" within our orgs. We should have CLEAN awards!! Even get money if one is to clean up an whole space station for example. Just need to add it as part of the game play and let the players do the rest.

  5. Regarding fire hazerd I think they have said they also want that to come with life support.

    though I suppose they could just turn off Smokes effect on air levels and keep it to just fire damage for the first implementation

I could completely see in the future of SC where punishment for certain lesser crimes, instead of being sent to jail and do tasks there, the punishment would be some kind of community service requiring things working as a janitor at a certain station… you go check-in with the manager, clean up the trash around the food court, and after a certain amount of cleaning (or time), you could go check-in with the manager again and you'd be clear of the crime. Your ships would be unavailable, but if you tried to leave, security would try to stop you and if you go away by taking a ship or otherwise running your crime stat would increase

  7. Imma need all your gown boxes. I want to build a huge fort out of them in the NB yoga pit. No? How about we make a giant Mt. Wreckmore out of Aurora carcasses? (It sounds like maybe this persistence thing could be very easily abused.)

  8. Looking forward to PES. I know it's going to have a huge impact on the game. I just hope I won't run into many trash walls of discarded water bottles at the Burrito Bars of the Galaxy.

  9. I know CIG want to be realistic with this but in public areas why not just close the area for cleaning, block access to the public and locally reset that area rather than use AI resource. To add realism this could be time based say at 5am in game time or something.
