Why choose A321XLR?
Air Canada has made a major purchase of up to 30 Airbus A3 21 XLR aircraft as part of its fleet improvement program. It can be saud this decision was driven by a number of key factors.

Firstly, the aircraft has a significantly longer range than previous single-aisle aircraft. This allows Air Canada to operate longer routes, both within North America and across the Atlantic, without the need for larger, more fuel-efficient wide-body aircraft. Secondly, it is operationally efficient. By using this aircraft, Air Canada can optimise its fleet, reducing the number of aircraft required for certain routes and reducing operating costs.
Next is capacity that allows airlines to deploy aircraft with a higher proportion of premium seats, meeting the growing demand for more luxurious travel experiences. The aircraft’s flexibility allows Air Canada to adapt its network to market conditions, offering more frequent flights to popular destinations and opening up new route opportunities. Finally, this Airbus aircraft incorporates fuel-efficient technology, helping to reduce Air Canada’s carbon footprint and align with the airline’s sustainability goals.

“The acquisition of the state-of-the-art Airbus A3 21 XLR is an important element of this strategy and will drive our core priorities of elevating the customer experience, advancing our environmental goals, network expansion and increasing our overall cost efficiency. This order also shows that Air Canada is emerging strongly from the pandemic and is ideally positioned to grow, compete and thrive in a reshaped global aviation industry” said Michael Rousseau, President and Chief Executive Officer of Air Canada.
“The exceptional versatility and performance of the A3 21 XLR will enable Air Canada to further develop its network expansion in a sustainable way with increased efficiencies and reduced Carbon dioxide emissions,” said Christian Scherer, Airbus Chief Commercial Officer and Head of Airbus International. “We thank Air Canada for its confidence in us and are delighted by the step-up in our longstanding relationship.”

  1. The flying gas tank, version of the 35 year old A320, first to take a dive on its own. Only EASA would approve that massive internal tank. Passenger comfort – 10 hours with 200 passengers and two loos.
