I think he told Michelle that he was going to pick her and she told him that if he was really gonna pick her then he needed to kill Anna so that she wasn’t a threat to them. I can’t think of a logical reason as to why he would break up with Anna and then kill her if it wasn’t because Michelle convinced him to do it. Now he is still absolutely to blame because they literally could have just let her go back to Russia.
