How To Get Rid of Mice and Rats with Black pepper
#pestcontrol #blackpepperbenefits #rodentremoval
Rodents, such as rats and mice, have a strong sense of smell which lures them to discarded food.
Since mice rely so heavily on their strong sense of smell, there is a strong substance which can deter them from entering your home and trying to find food.
Evidence in studies show that the use of black pepper is both a humane and effective tactic for keeping mice and other rodents away.
Since mice rely on their sense of smell, the strong potency of black pepper will make them think twice when coming around certain areas of your home.
Containing the bioactive compound piperine, this active ingredient in black pepper naturally irritates mice and rodents.
Therefore this is a great way to keep rodents like mice and rats away and it also reduces the appetites of the females, thus reducing the amount of reproduction in the process.
The less they eat, the less they mate and create offspring.
The idea of sprinkling black pepper around your kitchen and outside perimeter may seem silly enough, but it will force them to avoid the area.
Rodents, however, are slick and determined to find ways to get what they want but black pepper will deter them.
More than likely, there is some black pepper on your spice rack right now.
Why not give this method a try?
Thankfully, there are multiple ways to repel mice with black pepper.
You can simply get a concentration of black pepper like Essential Oil and create a spray to repel mice.
For every cup of water, add 10-15 drops of black pepper essential oil and place it into a spray bottle.
You now have a mice and rat repellent!
Alternatively you can Use Ground Black Pepper. Simply place small piles of black pepper where the mice are most seen and that should do the trick!
This includes inside cabinets, on counters, and under furniture.
If your house is kept somewhat messy, they could also become comfortable under clothing and other cluttered areas.
It is also a good idea to use coffee filters to house the pepper as it will help keep the spice contained and easy to spot.
Mice will avoid the pepper regardless of how it is distributed, so you might as well keep your pepper piles from getting out of hand!
It is important to note that once exposed to air, the black pepper will lose its potency over time.
It is best to replace the black pepper piles or bags every 24-hours to ensure the highest effectiveness.
Black pepper can be purchased in large quantities if needed.
As you may not know how many mice there are or where they like to hide, it can be good to experiment with the size and location of the piles of black pepper.
Add more pepper to areas you see fit and record results daily to ensure proper control.

Great information thank you
This may work. Other "aromatherapy" has failed. Thanks for the details.
Entertaining video….. what works best for me is the baking soda/cornmeal and the dry plaster of paris/flour…… check out some videos for these recipes, rats& mice can't pass gas so it doesn't end well for the little Bastards π π
Please and thank you. Amin. πͺππππ
None of that junk works but a rat trap!! All that stuff is doing is bating them. Ainβt none of it works. Never worked for me and they just kept coming back. Victor wood traps canβt be beat or a small live trap works good too.
Flamethrowers work also…π₯
Ya not replacing black pepper every 24 hrs or cleaning it up when it gets spread all over- you obviously arenβt the housekeeper in your house! Lolππ
Thank you watch5ing from South Africa,I will try this method
Not true
Nonsense idea of pepper
Add essential peppermint oil to cotton balls n spread soaked peppermint cotton balls where you find mice – they hate mint smells n it naturally deters them !
I call Bull $hit! The rodents in this video were not even rats.
change every 24 hours..very time consuming and could be expensive..thanks for the tip all the same
lol
Please get real.
Youβre also showing Chipmunks but you never specifically mention them.
I tried this recipe & they sprayed used saw dust to cover it
Live traps do work. But you need to take them far away after you catch them. Never poison them.
To keep the smelly stuffβ¦use a grated cheese empty, or spice bottle. It has shaker holes.
If you use baking soda or diatomaceous earth, wet it down with the essence oil, or ammonia. Leave the cap open, the smell will come through the shaker holes.
Itβll last for months. Check often just to move around.
Renew with more oil.
Itβs easier to do with neighbors. Itβs an area problem, work with others. Record what works.
Go in with others to hold down costs. Even if dollar store, it gets expensive.
Wonβt work for everybody, but mesh bags with used kitty litter. Donβt just toss it. Put in old socks, that way you can retrieve it and move around.
Startpage or duck duck go have terrific photos of owls. See under imagesβ¦.did we run some copies? Why yes, Use a page protector or wide clear tape for weather resistance.
Did we post on a string so it would move around in a light breeze? Yes.
As you do these things, make a few for neighbors. Offer to change the cats box for an elderly neighbor. Win-win.
Not all cats are good mousers, BTW.
Where is scienceβ¦canβt we make them extinct ?

I don't want to irritate or deter rats and mice. Nor would I use a 'catch & release' method to control them. Rats and mice are endangered species if they come anywhere near me.
Yeah I donβt want to feed them. Thanks anyway though
Now that is a kind option!
So many clueless cruel morons on these comments
And peppermint . In dangered . No
Fits and ctoter and clean and in the soil and food and to and maybe for federal and take care about it and by law DR and MD and too
I can't afford black pepper for my food ! let alone mice/rats !
I use baking soda plus other ingredients and another with dry plaster of paris they go outside after ingesting it to get a drink of water π§ big mistake. These truly work, put some dabs of peanut π butter in the mixture for attractant
Are we discussing North America, European Mice??
Because you're remedy doesn't work on Asian and Middle Eastern rodents. I can attest from personal experience that in the spice markets of Asia and the Middle East are infested with rodents regardless of the huge piles of Black Pepper, Clovis, cinnamon etc
I tried this came home and the rats were having dinner beside the pepper and ask me for some salt
.
Two cats in the house problem solved
We had some pepper in a container in our shed, they nibbled through it and ate some of the pepper. So i doubt this will work !

Black pepper also works to keep my ex-girlfriend away… She's allergic!
