I think Ksp Kinda beat them
โThat gives me an idea! Whichโฆ I suppose means anything could have given me an idea.โ
-Tahani Al-Jamil
We have been testing this in ksp for a while. Let me tell you about the space spins…
Oh I did a current events presentation on this a while ago lol, cool
I mean that is the genius of engineering.
What gas would they use to inflate the thing?
Lucas tower
Love you hank
Seems like 70s tech idk
Really fun fact but that pun at the end ๐๐๐
I am guessing but the main problem In this model would be control of movment.
It will be bad if it flipped during entry in the atmosphere
Is it just me or was this in KSP for years?
Or a butt plug
Is that a tie on your shelf?
Ksp be like. I think nasa came up w it first tho ngl. Like an idea of the 70s rso
I am shocked more people donโt recognize this from the ksp time of youtube. Idk if it was a mod or not
Where they gonna get the air from? The spaceship? Pilots dead ๐
I once worked with a guy who's wife is a rocket scientist. Every time he mentioned issue at home. I got a lot of mileage out of the old, well it's not rocket science. He seemed to enjoy it. I never met her. I left too soon because not my dream job came up, but better job than that one and a stepping stone to my dream job. Just 4 years later + dream job! Yes, it was engineering. We were auto mechanics at the prior job.
Shake the camera more !
can you make a shorts about how science agrees that there is a god from science facts from Quran
2010 A Space Odysee much?
I met some of designers in April at Langley AFB. Got to talk for about half an hour as the NASA Langley displays werenโt as popular as the aircraft on the runway. The structure design was really the easy part. The materials science required developing new fabrication techniques. One of the problems was the weaving facility wasnโt humidity controlled and some of the fabric degrades when it absorbs water.
That would be United Launch Aliance engineering, not NASA proper
Dope.
Reverse parachute
Thats cool! First Mattel makes M16 parts, now NASS uses a Mattel toy for inspiration. Lol
Heh, the Arbogast comes to my mind from The Expanse.
Gotta love that show ๐
You've got the discussion twisted yet again. The reentry path is designed to provide sufficient time to slow the craft to a speed low enough to safely deploy chutes. The friction with the atmosphere provides the braking force. The size of the heat shield is the size of the craft because you have to protect the entire craft and because Earth's atmosphere has sufficient density to provide the requisite braking.
This new design is required primarily for an insertion into the Mars atmosphere. Because it is far less dense than Earths, the size of the shield must be very large compared to the craft to provide sufficient braking force. On the plus side, Martian gravity is lower. But regardless terminal velocity is 5 times greater on Mars…hence the very large shield.
I would have used a kids' swimming pool as a better analogy.
What we need is a space dock/yard so we can build ships and shields and other things that are needed in the correct size and proportion for the planned travel.
They gave the engineers a box of donuts and this was the result (plus, diabetes).
That's what happens when an engineer has a child (in the family) and pays attention to their toys…
Engineers are definitely just grownup kids playing with big things.
I thought this was going to be a Tower of Hanoi video
