This Park Ranger Can't Explain What This Trail Camera Just Captured Deep In These Woods

Maybe a trek up a mighty peak is what you’re after. Or maybe you see yourself walking along an ancient trail that our ancestors used. Park staff and volunteers work hard to keep trails safe for visitors and follow conservation laws to help protect our natural resources. 1. THE CRIPTED I THINK LOOKING CLOSE AT THE EYS, LOOKS TO BE A KID WITH A WHITE TOWEL WITH THE EYES CUT OUT. AROUND THE EYES THERE IS ABOUT AN INCH ON THE RIGHT AND ABOUT A HALF INCH ON THE LEFT THAT ARE A LITTLE OVER SIZE HOLES FOR THE EYES, BUT KIDS WILL BE KIDS. YOU CAN SEE A DIFFERANCE BETWEWEN THE FACE AND THE LITTLE AREA AROUND THE EYES THAT ARE A SHADE DARKER THAN THE REAT OF THE TOWEL THE KID HAS. GOOD TRY.

  2. The 'eyes' on the thing ducking up and down look more like ears to me, could be a bear cub or even some kind of canine eating something off the ground hence the up and down motion, but I am 100% certain they are not eyes.

  3. El Hefe (around 6:40 time mark). There is at least one black jaguar/panther in my area of north Alabama. Back before digital, old timers have/had photos of it. When I first moved here I was told about it (by another kids at school) but never believed them until I started seeing it myself.

We also have a pair of wolves. Or at least, they were a pair. I never would have believed that either.

Of course when I was about 10, I watched a bear walk by (probably about 30 feet away from me). I had always thought bears were huge, and assumed this to be a baby. So I didn't even breathe or move from where I sat. Plus, I was hunting squirrel with a 4-10, birdshot, and even as a kid I knew better (lol). And I sat there so scared, waiting for the momma to appear but (and most fortunately) it turns out that the bears we have are little brown bears. No one believed me about seeing one until about 10 years ago there was one hit by a car a few miles from here.

In short, there is no telling what is out in the woods. Any woods. If bears (not to mention wolves and panther/jaguars) have adapted to stay so well hid…then imagine what else could have as well.
