My name is David and with my dog Lefty we live full time in our ambulance conversion RV. I made this change to my life and you can too! Like, subscribe and comment โ Lefty would appreciate it โ he wants the adventures to keep coming!
The Campulance is a 2002 Ford E450 Marque Commando 164 Class III ambulance powered by the Ford 7.3l Powerstroke turbo diesel engine and a 4 speed 4R100 transmission. Lefty is a 65lb Staffordshire Terrier (best I can tell) that came from the Verona Street Animal Shelter in March 2014 at the age of 9 months. We have been living full time in the campulance since July 2019. #ambulancelife #vanlife #staffordshireterrier

Iโm wondering if the agricultural inspection station operate under a seasonal schedule format. Perhaps, more hours are reserved for whenever peak agricultural-season occurs there..
Sweet pup.
Not sure when you arrived but it has been cold here this week. Rained three nights in a row. Will warm up some next week but they said tonight the low is mid thirty's. Way better than home though.
Lefty is such a smart dog. He knows where heโs at and loving it ๐.
Do you stay at LTVA or on BLM? I canโt remember.
There is a trick an old timer told me ….put a spare key behind your licence plate on one of the screws.
How many miles have you put on your ambulance since you got it?
Glad you made it out here to Quartsite. Itโs been a little cold this past week. โค
Boy, some guys and dogs will do anything to avoid visitors who live near I-40! ๐. Weโll have to make the several-hour trip each way to/from Quartzsite to bother you guys โฆ if we can knock over enough inconvenience stores that deal in sufficient cash to buy gas along the way!
See ya soon!!!!
I've been in the South a long time now, I like to be mobile all year long. I don't mind it getting chilly in the winter as it is now in AZ but I don't want to drive on ice or snow anymore. So much more freedom to jump in your car and have dry roads all year long ..
Awww, thanks for giving NM and AZ some love! We will be in Quartzsite at the end of January/early February. We boondock for 5-6 days (Dome Rock Road) and then go to an RV park (after everyone leaves and the rates go down.) I wonder what will happen to the RV Industry as gas prices continue to climb and become more scarce. Campground fees are also getting ridiculous. Such a bummer because I can't retire for another 2.5 years, and we wanted to take our Travel Trailer out for months at a time. Not sure that will be feasible unless things change.
Those are BORDER CHECK POINTS not Ag check points. We has a Truck Stop right off 10/ Motel.
I'd say that Lefty has the seating arrangements well in hand ! Guess he figures Dad can always just have a seat on the mat ๐ ๐
How do I enter to win stuff?
Congrats @FDNYbuffL132 ๐ฅณ
Welcome back to AZ! Iโm just north of Phoenix on BLM land, and enjoying the sun and 60F weather too.
Two humble suggestions – small magnetized metal key box hidden on the outside of the ambo or wear a string/something around your neck 24/7 with the key. May take some getting use to. Jus' sayin'. Luv your channel!
I thought you have stayed at Quartzsite Arizona before? I thought that you would pick a different place to go each year. I was hoping that you were going to California because when you mentioned that you thought that you may have to stop at a checkpoint I thought you crossed into California?
So glad you made and had a real good sleep. Lefty seems so happy. Stay safe my friends.
Glad you are Finally in Quartzside! I knew you were DONE with that cold climate(s)!
Glad you and Lefty made it to your winter home!!!!

Add up your diesel cost for one month. Does it equal one month of rent in New York? And sitting in a rental unit doesn't give you or lefty any change of scenery, the friendship of Jeff, or the freedom doing what you want. It costs to live, just enjoy your travels. โค๐ถ
David they make a hard plastic small key holder u can attach and hide someplace underneath your vehicle I think Walmart sells them could save u some money hi sweet lefty love melody
A few years back in mid-September, my buddy and me, took a road trip by car, on Rt. 66. Our end point was Albuquerque, NM. We woke up early in New Mexico, it was 40 degrees, we went to a local Walmart for about 30 minutes and by the time we came back out, it was 60+ degrees, blew me away.
you need to zip tie extra key under truck some place , easy to get to of course.

Welcome back to Beautiful Az. Enjoy the weather. Been a little chilly here at nights. I am about 1.5 hrs away from you here in Buckeye, Az.
Thereโs something about this place (Quartzsite) that draws you back to it. Maybe itโs the crystals. ๐Though I know youโve been here for a while no itโs good to finally see the video of your arrival.
I just drive the I 40 and it was cold and windy from Oklahoma to Californiaโฆ.
Hoping to go to Quartzsite in Januaryโฆ. Iโll b watching the weatherโฆ.
glade you an your helper made it/time for some R an R/cook some homemade /thanks much
I have a key to my van always clipped to my belt loop with a carabiner. I clip in on everyday. BEFORE I get out! Ha ha ha!
No worries we all seem to have locked ourself out once
You made it! I like to watch the driving videos but I bet you're glad to stay put for a while.
David, I keep my keys on a lanyard like they use for ID cards around my neck. I keep it there all the time so I never lose my keys. You might try that with your spare keys. That way it isn't dependent on remembering to switch where you put them.
Glad you made there safely. It's funny how Lefty knows where he's at. It maybe cooler here in Az now, but the sun feels warmer than when I lived in Illinois.
Hey bud, Will be back in Quartzsite in January would love to meet you and Lefty we've been following you for a while now on YouTube all your different adventures. We usually stay south of quartzite on 95 on the west side couple miles from town. We love Desert camping. Enjoy your stay๐บ๐ฒ
Enjoy to sunshine!! It will be nice๐๐๐บ๐ธ
I love your travels, one of the things I watch for are the city and state signs that show the towns and cities and areas you go through because I can relate to them by when I went through them. Your viewing of the scenery is awesome and the color of the red rocks of Utah New Mexico and Arizona is awesome. thanks, I am staying in a little town of Brenda sixteen miles east of Quartzsite and love your videos and my memories. I love it when we can laugh at ourselves. I look at prices and just know I have to accept it I don't like it but I have to accept it.
I am with you on wearing shorts
