This video truly wow
Holy shit man
26:53 – Moomins!!! YEEEEEEYYY!!! 🙂 ❤
The cinematography was top-notch this time around. Really makes me want to visit the island for a chill week myself.
The production quality is absolutely brilliant. Love from Kerala. മനോഹരം ആയിട്ടുണ്ട് !!
Fantastic story telling and beautifully shot. One of your best videos, congratulations.
One question I have had while watching this, "How do they fund this with their small population?"
Tv is not what it used to be
Remember, this tiny island is strategically important as global warming opens up the arctic for shipping. This is the gateway between arctic and Atlantic Ocean. Infrastructure investment on this island may have great strategical value.
Yeah blasting tons of tunnels, for a mere 50,000 population village and then showing a few turbines to green wash it, is really the role model the whole world needs to emulate.
my question is, where does the money come from in a country with just 50k or so population? Looks to me like the "investors" American VC's investing pension money, have something else in mind because all that work for a population that generates so little income will never make "rational" sense.
Amazing story. And an almost mythical location.
Are the Faroes going after sea energy harder than the Shetlands or Orkneys? I know there are tidal/turbine research projects in these 'Scottish' locations, but that sea kite seems quite far advanced. Maybe they're too cosy with the oil industry and poorer direction from the Edinburgh and London govs.
Visited two times (before the new tunnel). Nothing compares to this. What a special place.
An amazing feat of engineering and they have a bunch of cardboard cutouts to celebrate it. Amazing art my ass! 🤣
15 minutes too long.
Haha so the UK funds this while the country crumbles… NICE
I don't have much respect for such tunnel projects that are hostile to cyclists and transit. In this day and age, increasing car dependency is against good practice especially on islads where distances are so short.
There is talk of a tunnel connecting Normandy to Jersey and Guernsey in the Channel Islands, likely as a rail connection – I think it would be fantastic as our air transport links are very expensive and our sea links are unreliable, but the loudest voices currently are the older folk who've always lived here saying "we didn't need it before, we don't need it now", and "this better not come out of my taxes!" – I just hope that the Guernsey and Jersey governments actually decide to take action though, as both are known for how forward-thinking they aren't..
NO you are not a role model for the Planet, you are one for your specific climate region and population size that has the same Natural energy Profits. or aka national GDP.
Hold on a second. So you're telling me that you went to Sandur to interview a guy named Baldur.
So technically you knocked on Baldur's Gate?
Amazing – I travelled to St Wolfgang, Austria which installed a tunnel to remove traffic from the historic centre – but this is on a different scale. The concept of building for wellbeing instead of a pure business model is key
I vote to officially make the term for an underground roundabout an "undergroundabout".
Beautifully done!! Excellent work.
How have you gotten so big, you don’t even do your research properly. You say “worlds” smallest or biggest or whatever, and ets not even true. Its false information.
I understand you want to be dramatic and you want us viewers to be impressed, by I am more impressed if you facts are correct.
Another incredible doc from you! Congrats and thanks so much for sharing. Loved every second of it!
And if not for lack of political power and will to act, more places could enjoy the same lifestyle :/
Honestly the people silhouettes around the central column is creepy af. They could've chosen a more lively decoration than the "ghosts of the dead" lol
Informative documentary and well done. Meanwhile in the US infrastructure is stuck in the 50’s.
Thank you! Amazing!
This the type of country I want to live in know my taxe money going to the right place
Yeah right… whatever what time is the ferry ?
Bored now… you just took 8 minutes to ramble and repeat the introduction
Wow! Just WOW! Having just watched this, I'm already looking into a trip to the Faroe Islands 🤩
0:40 The drama music and flashiness is annoying. Is your channel aimed at Gen Z?
Meanwhile in Ireland there still building a children's hospital over a billion spent…….still no hospital…….
Weirdly, I honestly think the most surprising thing in this whole video was hearing a grown man say he'd never had anyone make a cake for him (25:15 or so), that feels wild to me
I like your videos but this one fells like it has too many unnecessary moments like 7:14 or 7:59. I don't know about the others, but I would prefer concise, full of information videos focused on the main subject instead of ones packed with dramatic or beautiful but meaningless scenes.
Oh no – you've made us all fall in love with the Faroe Islands – how long before we all go there and start to ruin it with sky scrapers & investement banks? 😀
So is the construction method of using explosives applicable anywhere, or only in areas where there is a suitable kind of solid rock to blast through?
Us folks in the UK can't even complete a new train line from Birmingham to Manchester. (HS2 Project just mostly cancelled). The idea of any Westminster government enabling a major infrastructure project THIS far from London is unfortunately a total non-starter. It ain't gonna happen … Ever.
Ok, I knew that I have to come back once. But after seeing this and with all the goosebumps, I know it has to be VERY soon! Thank you!
Next, the "Azores"🥰🥰🥰
