This is definitely not the safest place tu build a Base. The safest Place is in the Ocean (especially the flat beach near the guy with the pistol in the ocean). Why? Because the ocean doesn’t freeze in the winter just like that lake

just sleep and skip the winter…
You can actually build offshore. Zombies won't go in the water and the water doesn't freeze in winter. You only have to deal with them getting supplies but you can build in peace ✌️ 😌
You are incorrect. No place, where the water freezes in the winter, is safe. The only actual safe places are where the water doesn't freeze and it's too deep for the cannibals to track through. ALSO, once you start building on that island they were start spawning there as well. I've had the sprawn right in the middle of the foundation I was building there.
Best spot? Thats a horrible spot. Enemies always near by with roads so close, often times they even spawn directly on the island even if you have walls and fences. It's uneven ground, a small area with caskets that can't be destroyed right in the way… I have only been playing 3 days now and found no less than 10 spots that are FAR better. js

if u build the bridge on the ice in winter it will stay put when the ice melts
2 things that make this WAY EASIER:
You can place the 7 high log wall on the island because it is lower in elevation to save logs and not have a slanted bridge.
Also, you can place ANY prefab (just get the cheapest one) and dismantle most of it and build off whats left. You dont need the crazy expensive lookout tower.
Assume you could chain the bridge stairs to your building and then during the winter remove some of the bridge and they would just surround you but not be able to get into your building?
i rather build the base in the middle of the map. having your base somewhere near the edge is quite pointless because you have to walk for days to get to the good locations
