This is a MASSIVE Month for Space Games: Major Happenings!

It’s a massive month for Space Games with Everspace 2, X4 Kingdom End and No Man’s Sky Interceptor all releasing within days of each other. Additionally, KSP2 released only recently and Elite is getting Update 15 next month. These appear to be the biggest weeks in space gaming for ages!

  1. This video popped up only today. Thanks YT Algorithm. (why is it not spelt Algorythm?) Anyway started playing Everspace 2 again after trying out the very early part of the game a few months ago and owning it for a year or two. Absolutely adorable and challenging and lovely to play with HOSAS & Pedal set up.

I'll be waiting for a while before diving in to the X4:Foundations stuff as I've burnt myself out on the original game and can't be arsed to play through the bugs and stuff. Very impressive amount of work getting it up to scratch by Egosoft as usual. Great developers. HOSAS & Pedals are supported but reverse thrust is limited.

Played No Mans Sky VR a few days ago. Flying with VR sticks is awful but the experience on planets is immersive. Same game with the free updates so your mileage may vary but they've added so many sliders to tweak to the style of the game you want to experience. Awesome job to continue supporting the game for so long and for absolutely free.

Elite Dangerous Update 15. Yeah okay FDEV. Let's see what you bring to the table as there's been zero communication so we have nothing to talk about. When they do release a video it'll be entirely unlike what we get based on previous experience. If that's not the case I'll be happy but I also won't be holding my breath or giving them kudos until they can do that for a subsequent updates that improve Elite Dangerous for the player base. When 3rd party volunteer developers start walking away the player base whom relied upon the tools may disappear too.

  2. Interesting that you never even mentioned SpaceBourne-2, even thought its in EA, not a bad effort from a small team.
Maybe look a little outside the mainstream (games) box perhaps?!

  3. The, as always, very interesting informations – as one has learned to appreciate from an Obsidian Ant video over the years – was just overshadowed with the absolutely unexpected face reveal bomb.

    Chapeau!

I like the new format and I will continue to look forward to new OA videos.
Thanks for all the work over the years!

  4. There is still one thing I don't like about no man's skies marketing. The chance of actually seeing such a beautiful and lively scene as in their trailers, it might happen maybe once or twice in 300 hours, while it is being presented as if it's just regular in game gameplay.

  5. Pining over Starfield, but this video makes me want to look at ES2 as a distraction while I wait for Bethesda to release what I hope will be an epic title.

  6. I'm loving the 6.0 update and the Kingdom's End/Boron addition to X4!

And really great to be able to out a face to the voice I've been hearing for so long! Please don't stop releasing content, Ant. You make this old gamer happy and I respect your opinions on games.

  7. Pity about Elite: Dangerous, they are dying breed as Odyssey has been shelved from consoles, I was hoping to land on the planet and walk around but sadly, I had to give up Elite: Dangerous entirely as I switched to No Man's Sky which is much better.

At least No Man's Sky is getting even more content at 2023, according to developers! Which is great news for us players because No Man's Sky has been here like few years at least so I was pleasantly surprised that it will keep getting more stuff.

Honestly, I just want them to make them proper asteroid fields with multiple planetoids or big asteroids where I can land and explore in, it would be awesome.

It would be even cooler if they can make us ability to fly in gas giants atmosphere and use them as mining gaseous resources like Elite: Dangerous did, I thought why not, it would be good idea as gas giants does provide large amount of resources like hydrogen, helium, ammonia, nitrogen, etc as gaseous type materials to gather.
