Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is a 2019 action-adventure game developed by FromSoftware and published by Activision. The game follows a shinobi known as Wolf as he attempts to take revenge on a samurai clan who attacked him and kidnapped his lord. It was released for PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One in March 2019 and for Stadia in October 2020.

Gameplay is focused on stealth, exploration, and combat, with a particular emphasis on boss battles. The game takes place in a fictionalized Japan during the Sengoku period and makes strong references to Buddhist mythology and philosophy. While making the game, lead director Hidetaka Miyazaki wanted to create a new intellectual property (IP) that marked a departure from the Souls series of games also made by FromSoftware. The developers looked to games such as the Tenchu series for inspiration.

Sekiro was praised by critics, who complimented its gameplay and setting, and compared it to the Souls games, although opinions on its difficulty were mixed. It was nominated for various awards and won several, including The Game Award for Game of the Year. The game sold over five million copies by July 2020.

  1. To anyone who may have skipped the intro: I played a very small part of this game in 2019. It was my first “introduction” to Fromsoft games, but I very quickly gave up on it and didn’t make it very far. Now I’m back and ready to get back into it after having finished multiple of the Souls games now.

I started recording this series almost a year ago (I had just recorded part 2 of DS2), so I’ve gotten to learn and experience a lot of this game on my own. I’ve learnt my lesson that a lot like to backseat when I’m playing these types of games, so I decided to get an early start, so I could figure things out myself and take my time.

So if you do go ahead and leave me any tips, I have probably figured it out all ready 🌼

Anyway, I hope you’ll all enjoy this series! It’s been so much fun so far ✨

  2. One good hack I found in the game that people on their first playthrough are never going to try obviously. After you get the healing gourd and the sword back from the child, if you use that idle it will basically send you back to the last checkpoint before you even get to a shrine. In other words it will completely refill your health, you don't have to use your gourd, and it just takes you back to literally right after the kid gave you everything.
Also, never watched you before. Judging by the into area you actually did really good. Seen so many people avoid deflection and parries, you just went right in for the jugular.

  3. I also bought the game in 2019 and immediately gave it up again. Now I finished it after playing Elden Ring. It was much harder but I love the atmosphere with the fantastic japanese Voices. めちゃめちゃ美しいゲームだと思う。👌🏻

  4. You're one tough bitch if you complete the game and beat the special end game boss. Sekiro offered me the greatest single player experience that I've ever had in a video game.
