  1. 6:03:53 honestly I flipped my shit once Dracula uttered the words from the Bible… we saw Mathias one more time in that moment. I’m glad there is a path where he chose to remain human after he was reincarnated into soma cruz.

  2. Wait, mods put chat in emote only mode because chat was letting Max know that schmoo drops crissaegrim? And their excuse was chat was trying to break the game? Mods need to fuckin' chill.

  3. The riddle of the two rings is pretty deceiving: Wear-in-Clock-Tower. But that looks to me more like a "clock room" than a "clock tower", even looking at the geography of the map. I guess there was some mistranlation there.

  4. Absolutely dripping in detail and atmosphere, this game is a phenomenal RPG approach to Metroids action game design. The founding blocks of the Metroidvania genre are to very sick as hell, "everything and the kitchen sink" style games with so much shit you can do. They was gaming out their damn mind in the 90s I tell ya what.

  5. the fact you need to look up how to play the 2nd half of the game, shows this clock tower business is truly cryptic. When I played this game several years ago, I was warned about the silver and gold ring. I still miss it when going back to play it now.

  6. I know it's too late– He played and that's that but, the struggle he had to "super jump" was… oof, hard to watch. Just press "down, up + jump" that's it. down-up, jump. No need to pre-jump or double jump. ^^;; Why no one in his chat never mentioned that, I'm not sure. Seeing him struggle so much in the reverse castle clock tower section, with the medusa heads, it would've helped.

  7. I literally misted between Galamoth's legs and went ham. When he started spamming attacks I just used well timed Alucard Sword teleport slash endlessly till he died. I forgot just how much dmg he does

  8. If you liked this game Max then you'd probably like the two Soma Cruz castlevania games. Though if you play Dawn of Sorrow I would say play with the romhack that autocompletes rune drawing for you in order to remove the annoying tedium built around the second DS screen.

  9. I fucking knew it. you ran into the schmoo and some mod got angry that chat wanted you to get what it dropped.

  10. I was watching some of this live, and I was astonished when I tried to give max the input for the flying bat and a mod deleted my message when I remember he pretty much said to tell him the spells inputs and shit like that… what can I say? Specially when he was talking about slow travel on the map

  11. I love how Max thinks that the chakram and heaven sword are crazy op shit while they are below average trash. A bit salty that the mods were fine with him going for heaven sword but not Cris. Also no one told him about Tulkas multi-punch?

If you or anyone here has a chance the YT channel for Double Fine (Psychonauts/Brutal Legend) has a series where they play games with the people who worked on them and there is a 2+ hr video of them playing this with IGA and he tells cool stories about the game how at one point 6 people worked on the game and there was at one point a customizable bedroom for Alucard.

  13. One thing I like about this playthrough of Castlevania is his perception of the game feels truly unique like I've never seen before in a way that is entertaining definitely a distinguished playthrough because of the sheer style that Max adds!

  14. the strongest weapon is the Alucard Shield hands down
the second and favored best weapon of all is Crissaegrim (or Valmanway) a drop item
Alucard Sword is holy elemental as I remember, hence it has more consistent better match ups than Osafune, while the Masamune and Yasutsuna, 2 drop items are better than Osafune
but technically speaking Muramasa dunks on them all since you can increase its attack to the max, just that it is slow
