Obviously SD1 or SD44 is an older game but it does some things really well, better than SD2 in my opinion. I actually like SD1 over SD2, but what do you think? Let me know!

The original steel division. I will advise any new player to play and understand Steel Division Normandy 44 before the play Steel Division 2. This is a great game for starters.

I honestly really like SD1, and I 100% agree with the points made in the intro there like how SD2 feels "spamy". I feel like there is just loads and loads of units in SD2 with no break. I prefer SD1.
Thank you for sharing. I forgot how rich and vibrant the colors are in SD1. I was so use to the grays and browns of the eastern front SD2. I too like the smaller maps and the larger scale of SD2 mess with the balance alittle. Both games stand up well together that they can live on your computer at the same time. I wish they went back and made an army general for it or brought the maps into SD2 like they did some of the divisions.
How funny, I started playing SD2 a few weeks back but felt kinda overwhelmed so I picked SDN44 these holidays and I'm about to start playing it in order to get a better idea of how to play SD2, nice to see this video! 🙂
i am afraid for warno. i think ot will be spamy too (math based). i think they listen too mutch to very good players. who will say ohh that is 300 point tank, the ap value of my 200point plane is more then its armour. lets suicide the plane and win 100points. or the magical repair partys who favour micro players… if a tank is shot at 1 time it has a good chamce of survival. if it has been hit 100 times the crew used up its angels. There are no spare angels in a repair truck or special welders to repair composit armour

Personally, I didn't find it very intriguing to start with SDN44 and soon bought myself the second part, which was for me more accessible due to its larger distances

i prefer SD1, would have loved army general from SD2 to SD1. Eastern front is so gray and boring compared to the colours of the western front in SD1. Great video as usual m8
There is still an actice steam community that plays almost everyday.
World War II is so a notorious topic in RTS. There are other eras too, you know. The game looks good though.
