Welcome to the Borrius region, a region rich with history tied to the story we know and love from Kalos and AZ. A great war was fought with the Borrian people and with the help of a powerful Pokemon, Hoopa, the tides turned. This Pokemons power is being used once again by a dark organization called “Shadows” and it’s our job to stop them while we aim to become the best Pokemon trainer!

  1. Watching Dan go from 0 to full metal tilt in 60 seconds was hilarious.

So rough. The encounters were less than ideal, the side quests to make those encounters viable were not favorable.

  2. Loved the series not sure if this would work but I'm assuming you could use quick claws destiny bond to cheese this fight. Quick claw can be found on wild zangoose and included in the trade for ducklet in the first gyms town incase you want to try it for run 5

  5. I felt sooooo bad for you aDrive, that face of yours when you saw Crunch missing, literally spoke for it self how you feeling about this nuzlocke. We could see you not being able to take it anymore. Rip

  6. I don’t think you should have done a BLIND nuzlocke on probably the hardest difficulty that is possible (idk how hard insane most likely near impossible everything has to be perfect) you should have tried it non nuzlocke and try to enjoy the game

  7. Not sure when you will do the next run for unbound, but the only way I got through that Reshiram/Zekrom battle was jolly max speed Noivern sets up tailwind, then mega Gyarados EQ and fairy gem alolan Ninetails. I know its a nuzlocke so who knows if you will have those mons at that point, but I would say at least try to save Noivern for tailwind so your teammate has a chance to fight.

  8. Honestly this fight is probably the worse one in the game. After that the last gym and E4 can be sketchy but you can take advantage of their tactics. Although if you make it to the league, you should look up what their gimmick per fight each. Or it’s gonna be rough.

  9. Good job, Dan. It's impressive how far you've made it into this game doing hardcore nuzlocke. That Reshiram/Zekrom battle just looks impossible. The rival teammate is just worthless.

  10. New subscriber here! What an incredible series to start out on, as Pokémon Unbound is my personal favorite rom hack. I’d love to see this series continue, even if it’s not a Nuzlocke! This game is ridiculous on its own, especially if you bump the difficulty up to insane. I feel like you’d have a much more fun time with the game as there are so many cool changes to mons in this game, as well as many other amazing features. Food for thought. Anyways, have a good day 👍🏼

  11. Gonna copy/ paste what I said in episode 4 comments (with a few tweaks) recently as i started watching this nuzlocke just yesterday:
TL;DR – I formed a nuzlocke ruleset for this specific game since it's on a whole new level of difficulty

I played through the first couple of gyms getting my ass beat time and again before developing smarter strategies and building around teams; therefore I can get behind the idea of going into sandbox mode (which I had no idea existed until now and I just barely defeated Light of Ruin with 350+ hours of playtime) every-so-often to help yourself out of completely hopeless situations in a nuzlocke but ngl it felt cheapened when I saw the stat scanner screen being used to swap between abilities/natures.. before even knowing the stat scanner was something you would acquire from a lab assistant which has not been done here.

Personally, the way I'd handle a nuzlocke for this game would be with the following ruleset:
    1. 1 encounter per area from grass and water each
    2. Sandboxing for EVs and IVs is allowed to prevent a run compromise in the EV training house
    3. Dexnav hunts are allowed ONLY after each badge is earned; in equivalent exchange, 1 pokemon must be discarded from pc OR party. These are allowed to be saved up but the caveat is, for each gym conquered since then, 1 more pokemon must be discarded. (i.e 1 encounter saved up until gym 5 equates up to 5 pokemon being sacrificed) This applies for each individual gym encounter saved up and, in many cases, could cost a game over if not taken into consideration.
    4. Type clause allowed two same types on team only
    5. Egg move tutor is OFF LIMITS; this rule can be subverted but the pokemon is only alive for 1 use for a gym/boss/elite 4 battle
    6. Wiping to a gym leader permits potion usage for a limit of 1 rematch and a limit of 5 items; item usage permitted outside of battle.
    7. Horde encounters count as their own separate encounters
    8. No legendary clause (in other words more than 1 is permitted)
    9. Reset spamming for gift pokemon nature is only allowed via equivalent exchange (see rule 3)
    10. Breeding pokemon and safari zone only allowed when elite 4 is reached; consequently sync capture/usage permitted. Only 2 encounters allowed in Safari Zone; this resets in the event of a wipe to the elite 4

This game does require some level of grinding in order to beat certain teams which is why some of the perks in the ruleset had to become double-edged swords for the sake of nuzlocke, sanity and fairness alike lol
