This Australian track is not on the map (best plan B) – EP 111

We were so excited about our plan for this week of travel. We were thrilled at the idea we would get some snorkling time on this west Australia coastline we had heard about for weeks. But the weather disagreed with that. Wind, rain, swell and current. The elements were telling us: “no, no, no…”. Deception would be an under statement.

So we went for plan B. Get lost. That is how we ended up picking a random track in the Ningaloo coastal reserve. The initial ambition was simply to find a way up north that was not on the main road. In the end, this wild way through the dunes gifted us and our group of friend with more surprises we could have dreamt of. Whales, shipwrecks and more! Adventures how we love them.

Beware not to end up sand bogged.

Until next week, take care!

  1. I premiered the video at 7:30am Pacific time😂 …it must be around 11pm there. Fun track! Where was the little sheep's Mama. Always meeting cool people to hang out with! Sleep well!

  2. You 2 seem to meet so many wonderful people. And a great thing about videoing your journey is its a great way to remember all of them and the great times you shared. No matter how brief it was.

  3. I'm confident you have been asked this questions, so I apologize upfront but what OPD bluetooth scanner are you using to monitor your engine? I would also be curious as to how you manage cell coverage. Are you purchasing prepaid services for a particular country or using something like Starlink?

  4. 👍You did it Mathilde on the sign tag. Very enjoyable route you took off the beaten path. Great ocean shots. Love seeing the crystal blue water🌊 and sunrise. 🌅 Interesting to see how🐄 and 🐐roam around freely. Hope baby goat found mama. Nice seeing 🦘. It appears you are enjoying traveling with your new found friends. I like how the Belgium SUV🚙 took that hill. Impressive. Looks like you finally found your snorkeling spot. Looking forward to that. 6. IF CLOUDS ARE WATER EVAPORATED FROM THE SEAS LAKES RIVERS DUE TO HOT TEMPERATURES THEN HOW COME WINTERS COME WITH FAR MORE CLOUDS THAN SUMMERS WHEN THE WATER OF THE SEAS LAKES RIVERS ARE FREEZING COLD ? ? ? ? ? ?

IF CLOUDS ARE THE TRUE SOURCE OF RAIN HAIL SNOW THEN HOW COME IT DOES NOT ALWAYS RAIN OR HAIL OR SNOW WHEN EVER THE WEATHER IS CLOUDY ? ? ? ? ? ?

DOES IT RAIN HAIL SNOW FROM THE CLOUDS OR ARE CLOUDS JUST A COVER UP FOR THE OPENING OF THE BLUE SCREEN CALLED SKY ? ? ? ? ? ?

  7. Those sea walls looked a bit shaky to get to. The tracks you found looked like a lot of fun and to find some other folks go trailing with you was awesome. You guys are having all the fun! Did you save the upgrades you did to the old engine for the new one?

  8. Did you spot any goats around shark bay? There used to be thousands but i heard they culled them. If you stopped at Hamelin pool to look at the stromatolites (one of the few best sites for stromatolites) the goats would swarm you, especially the baby goats.

Im amazed you guys dont wear sun glasses out there. The sun here is powerful and that must really hurt your eyes.

Did you look on the western australian museum’s shipwreck database? There are a few candidates, including one thats unidentified but i didnt know your location and ive never seen that one so i couldnt figure out which was the most likely. Best bet is that its whats left of the Korean Star but it looks way too small.

The fish skeletons were most likely an old Osprey nest. They build tower nests and live in them for generations but theyre usually on high, safe, rocks.

  9. What units are you using to measure fuel economy? I'm used to miles per gallon (mpg) so a lower number is worse, even if it's km per litre a lower number is worse economy, so I'm confused lol.

  10. You guys remind me of my hubbie and I travelling around the USA with our VW Golf and our tent in the ‘80s. You’re an inspiration and I feel like getting back out there camping in the wilderness. I’m looking forward to next week’s adventures. Elkje from 🇧🇪
