  1. This is gonna be one of the top for the year. This episode is to me what the first ep of Oshi no ko is to those fans.

The way they use colour with animation is something special.

I'm so excited for this series.

  2. We are so used used to masterpieces that when we see one, we don't give credit were is deserved. This IS one of the best first episode I've seen in my life. The whole show was sakuga from start to finish. Gotta love it.

  3. At the beginning the graffiti was "Memento Mori" – it translates from Latin to "remember that you must die", basically. There's a lot of art that use the motif of memento mori that serves as a reminder of our mortality, and it fits perfectly for Zom 100 as well. Akira taking stock at the end and realizing he has things he'd like to do before he clocks out for good pretty much embodies the whole concept of that motif that people have been using for centuries.

  4. Oh yes. This workforce does exist in Japan and is very common. Lately, Gen Z and later year Millennials have been calling it and demanding changes. Zom 100 and the artist Ado are just a few who have been outspoken about how awful it is. When you have a forest called the Suicide Forest where salary men and women go because of the pressure then you have a problem…

  5. In Japanese workplace culture; changing jobs other than poaching is considered disloyalty to the company! It will affect the assessment of subsequent employment interview admissions!

  6. Some background info on the anime. The people who animated it actually came from a black company in japan doing animation before moving to another company. You can see the references they made on their old company in the background of the episode.

A "black company" is a Japanese term for shady corporations who abuse their employees. So the suffering the MC was feeling was real straight from the people who lived it.

  7. people are saying its up there with ep1s because not only it showed us the life of animators something we've only hurd of before but it did so in the best way possible. Especially that scene when he finally leaves is so revolting. Hoenstly thisis something weve never seen before but also the spin on mentality during a zombie crisis. My boy is happy. Cant name one zombie anime where the main character is happy that the zombies came. Sure their are ones that found happiness in the crisis. But this whole zombie concept is new and fresh as well.

  8. I see you two are getting more and more interested in the casting each time you watch a new anime, that's great! I also starting to get involved in the seiyuu world a few years ago, and it's wonderful to start recognizing your fav seiyuus! It's like magic. One option to know the cast of a series is My anime list, they have everything there, there's also Wikipedia, but sometimes it lacks casting. Welcome to the seiyuu world!
