  1. My suggestion, fix the music boxes so that tgey play tge same music for everyone and expend on its capabilities. That way DJs and performers could actually do virtual shows on exotic planets with elaborate concert stages.

  2. Ok, here’s what we need..a whole new game with this same formula but an actual finished game, which this is not! This game is unfinished with absolutely nothing to do! Here’s an idea..why not make an Aliens or Star Wars or even Terminator game like this? There’s an idea! Or why not just put some actual creatures or bounty hunters we can fight? Would love to fly into a freighter & get into a battle & take it out from the inside out just like the original Battlefront! This game has so much potential, but it needs a ton of work rather than just some dumb updates here & there!

  3. I just want customisable Sentinel ships and the ability to build the huge base I want to build without the game crashing constantly or the ground textures disappearing and making me fall to the invisible centre of the planet! Oh yeah, I'd also like prebuilt accommodation modules for the freighter because I want to build them for my crew but can't be bothered to have to go to the effort of adding beds, cupboards, chairs to every module every time!

  5. Awesome video. Couldn't agree more with the space combat. Would be great to have more depth there.

The first thing I'd love is for them to go back to basics.
    – Mining could be improved. It's just boring, there's no variety/difference between ores. It's just a colored blob on the ground and it's mined the same. We could also have massive asteroids in space that we can land on and mine/create mining facilities.
    – Combat could be massively improved. Why don't we fight Korvax/Gek/Vykeen pirates? Like… ground combat? It would add a much needed variety to combat. Maybe a quest to defeat some kind of pirate boss or even creature bosses that are attacking nearby villages. Maybe even random events like: "Your ship, that you left 400U away, is being ransacked. Go back or activate defense mechanisms".
    – Exocrafts could be massively improved. It's annoying that they're so slow and that there's no good glider-type exocraft for atmosphere flying. When you scan for something, it's 5-15 min away by exocraft. I'd rather switch to my ship, thank you.
    – Scanners could be massively improved. It's the same annoying animation from 2015 when you find a signal tower, and you only get 1 PoI. I'm sure they can do better. On that note, why is our ship's scanner worse than our exocrafts'? It just doesn't make sense.
    – Ship onboard scan globe thingy could also be massively improved to include PoI, ore patches and stuff like that, configurable by the player. Right now it's hardly readable (just some squares) and offers little to no information.

And for a new feature I'd like to see:
    – A planetary map. Something that gathers every PoI you visited on that map, with maybe a drone upgrade that you can see up to 3000U away, then you can plan a mining route by pinning this map.

  6. I would love: and get this, wars. The conflict level of systems change over time, with the aid of the player, and it can become more dangerous or less. Systems can declare war on eachother, instead of just pirates attacking systems. Big fleet battles can spark out of nowhere while flying across the system, 2 massive fleets of freighters warring on each other.

I would also love to see us be able to customize our freighters and fight other player’s freighters in a sort of gamemode like hourglass from sea of thieves. You wouldn’t lose anything if you are defeated but it would be fun to command a fleet in battle

  7. I hope they make a simple change to mechanics of biomes. My least favorite part of finding an amazing planet is something I call "Nutella" where there are just brown/black blotched areas all over the place even if the planet is like… pink. That ruins so many planets for me. I'd also like to see planets with only 1 or two species and planets with like, 50. I know what I'm going to encounter when I find a certain planet at this point… that feeling stinks.

  8. To touch upon your armada idea, that would be a great idea. It could be designed in such a way that if you wanted to raid an entire star system, your armada has to be large enough to do so. If your armada isn't large enough then you either have to work to get it large enough, cant raid that star system, or raid it and possibly get your tail kicked and have your armada destroyed or valuable resources taken. I do use the roamer, but only to collect knowledge stones.

  9. Good video. Longtime player here Came onboard when the game had only just started coming good, when I bought a secondhand copy from my FLGS. Best twenty bucks I ever spent. I play on the PS4, and had the extremely good fortune to fall in with a solid and very supportive group early on.

    As regards your thoughts:

    – I like your idea of being able to incorporate base components (and functions) into settlements. A thought of mine is that the settlements mainly use the 'wood' architecture plus some stone components — so possibly mix this up somewhat, with some settlements using mainly wood and others using mainly metal and so on. So, a more varied look overall.

    – On Outposts, etc. , I also feel like more of their components should be accessible for us base builders. That is, you should be able to build your own bases using that architecture. The most you can do now is sort of incorporate a pre-existing structure into your own base, which tend to to have certain limitations.

I do like the idea of underground / underwater facilities. Yes, I play Fallout. 🙂 Comes to that, I would like for there to be mobile floating bases (read: ships).

    – As a long-time TTRPGer, I am all in favor of more "History" and backstory. Procedural generation can only take you so far for this – I go to a place and get a randomly generated snippet of ….. something that happened, rinse and repeat.

    – Skill tree? Long-time TTRPGer, as said. Not opposed to the idea, just hard to see how it could go beyond providing buffs in a few specialized areas. This is something I'd see more for new arrivals, to give them a "leg-up" so to speak – the veterans would probably have a lot less use for this.

    – On Space Stations, prior to 'Pirate' Stations becoming a thing, I often felt that there should be options for Players to take over Stations, ESPECIALLY those that have been deserted or abandoned. Pour resources into getting them repaired and rehabilitated, have "bug hunts" to clear out any nasties, and so on.

Personally, I do feel like the game needs more in the way of "money sinks". Once you are established, have your freighter, a squadron of tricked-out ships, several cool bases, etc., you can't help but keep making more money, no matter what. After a time, the money just piles up. Terrible. You can use some of it to help newbies get a start, but I know guys out there with colossal piles of cash,, but nothing they do can even make a real dent in that.

To that end, I'd rather like to see large-scale long-term projects that Players can waste their excess cash on. Terraforming come readily to mind. You want to 'change' a world, you can but it'll be hugely expensive and take a long while. Ringworlds? Dyson spheres? Hyperspace by-passes? Perhaps stuff that the game can't cope with, but you get the idea.

At the very least, I think it should be possible to BUY Quicksilver outright. At an outrageously expensive rate of exchange, of course – talking hundreds of millions to one, at least. It wouldn't unbalance the game much, but it would give Players an incentive to keep making money ingame, instead of just sitting on monster piles of cash like Scrooge McDuck.

Oh, yes. I also think the game needs to work on inter-Player communications A LOT. At this stage, we have the PC-users and the Xboxers and the PS4/5ers all mainly existing in their own respective boxes, so to speak. I feel like more needs to be done here.

  10. QOL changes I would like to see.
    1. remove the icon or mark as visited mined resources.
    2. an update to building with a controller. it is terrible.
    3. make charted areas of planets visible with a toggle to add or remove them.
    4. a release all fish button! including the skiff.

  11. 7:50 NMS is a huge achievement, but this lack of RPG elements is why I never personally got into it. My avatar just felt like something to prod the world with. like a mouse cursor. For example there was no real character creation stage where you think about your character, within the clues provided by the perks and appearance options provided to you.

Combining RPG with an unlimited procedural world is an interesting and possible cursed problem of game design. Im not claiming to know how to make it work. One idea, apart from that character creation stage, could be to provide the players with the ability to craft their own factions and faction quests in some sort of creation mode separate from the main game. Then these could be shared with other players. Creators could write npcs, lore for that local region of space, place artifacts, write dialog and quests, and even point players towards discovering other regions fleshed out by other creators.

  12. Angry comments incoming……………..I can't think of any, but I like your ideas. While I love this game, it's just so predictable. It needs a new hook, story driven would be great, or more risk and reward choices. Even some small random surprises would be great. Like in sniper elite. You might be scanning the area for enemies and entry points when you see a German all alone in a field. Wtf, so you watch him. Dude's just a slacker picking flowers. It's a very small addition but now you're driven to see if there's anything else like that. NMS could easily add some random things like that.

  13. Players built space stations.

    Freighter battles.

All ships display in hanger (freighter.)

Ability to display armor and backpacks collected. Weapons and cape displays too.

Planets with bigger presence of civilizations.

    What I wanna see.

  15. I did make up an idea long ago about being able to change the color of your planet oh and i just thought of something else, a feature that always you to clame a planet or moon, after that you will be able to change the planets weather status, and the planets color to your likeing, but ones you unclame the planet it will turn back to the way it was, i don't know how that would work, but ya. 🙂

  16. I have an idea that I'd like to see in a space game such as NMS, which is… how about we become able to actually touch and walk on stars (suns)?

I tried and waited for a very long time during a session once when I did travel in hyper speed (I can't remember the precise name of it) towards a star in a system, and left the ship going for a long time and nothing happened

And I know that we barely have touched the sun with space tools, robots and such IRL, but how about we actually do it here in the virtual non harmful universe, where we maybe able to find something weird and new that either could be amazing or terrifying

  17. Modding support! It's the way to keep the game going beyond Hello Games' constant updates.
I have no idea how that would be implemented with the multiplayer aspect, though…

  18. Take over a space station and make it your own base, sure. As long as you can't hinder other players use of it. No trapping them, etc.

Vehicles, if you're into that ok, but there's little point to them, except for the radar. You can't visor survey from them. Their inventory is useless as well. All enclosed vehicles should be immune to weather. The only real useful ones are the car and the minotaur.

Settlements crack me up. The premade buildings have no actual use. The interior layout of some of them have objects blocking doors. It was fun at first if you made a base close enough to do some decorating and building inside the settlement. My 2nd save never offered to build a bar, just houses, landing pads, and markets. The best thing about them is using a save editor to have them make things you can actually use. Otherwise they don't offer much beyond a short distraction.

  19. How about something as simple as giving voices to the character instead of having the player read constantly I myself stopped caring about the lore and story cause I'm playing to turn my brain off a bit and don't feel like reading a book! They could even get creative and give the translators installed on the exosuit an AI voice and have them malfunction on words not yet added to players vocabulary

  20. I would like difficulty through complexity. I understand they're trying to appeal to the majority, but having simple pattern and arithmetic as a puzzle is lame. I think overall the game could do with less handholding.
