This is disinformation! None of these appear in the official catalogs of alien beings, for example in the 48 races described in the Soviet book of aliens. Why talk about these imaginary creatures when there are many good movie representations of real aliens?

The Face Hugger is the first form of the xenomorph. It needs to gestate inside a host for a short period of time to transition to its' final stage, and the face hugger has the speed and agility to catch a host. Once it has done so, the infant stage detaches from the outer shell and is transferred/deposited into the stomach of the host, leaving the dead shell behind.
