That’s not quite true about red blood cells. They have nuclei when they are first made, but they get larger and lose the nucleus before they move into the blood stream. In cases of severe anemia and some other conditions, they are moved into the blood stream early, and they are still nucleated. It’s a bad sign if you have nRBC (nucleated red blood cells) on your blood work results.
