This is kinda what i assumed, plus if your making a serious zombie movie/series you dont want the characters yelling zombies, that portrays that the show is fictional, but they want the show to seem like it could be real. So each group and person has their own terms for them. It also makes it seem more like a post apocalypse
Nah pretty sure there was an article released where in their universe nobody ever thought of zombies and put them in comic books and what not.
