This week Pastor Jeff Wilson looks at the events immediately following Paul’s conversion. Here, we have a zealous man doing what he thought was pleasing to the Lord, only to be rebuked, and then called, by the very same Lord! The New Testament records that Paul did not immediately consult with the other Apostles, but instead took time in order to seek the Lord’s face and counsel personally before going to meet them.
All of us, just like Paul, have been on the wrong side of the tracks, and yet God has called us to service in spite of our past. Perhaps then, before running to others for counsel, we should instead seek the one who made the call on our lives in the first place.
To be effective in the body of Christ we must first have an intimate relationship with God. Without that as our anchor, our service to Him, and others, will prove to be ineffective.
Do you believe that Jesus has been exalted on high, if so, then why do you not believe that He has sent YOU a powerful helper in the Holy Spirit of God? It is available to all who follow Christ. May this sermon inspire you to seek what has been promised to you as we approach Pentecost this month.
Blessings in Christ.
