It’s time for Test and Stephanie McMahon’s wedding! The happy couple are scheduled to get hitched at the very end of Raw is War, but they get interrupted just before they can say “I do”. Elsewhere on the show D-Generation X take on The Rock & Mankind plus their mystery partner, and Steve Blackman returns to Raw to completely annihilate The Godfather.

Over on Nitro things remain pretty chaotic. The Powers That Be are still in control, and that means we’ve got a million cutaways, promos and interviews with minimal in-ring action. Lex Luger wants to get some revenge after what Elizabeth did to him at Mayhem, Juventud Guerrera gets a shot at Jushin “Thunder” Liger’s NJPW Junior Heavyweight Championship, and we’ve also got 2 Steel Cage matchs, 3 No Holds Barred matches, and 2 mud wrestling matches.

  1. The work you do for us goes largely unappreciated!!! I cannot believe you sat through that episode of nitro… this episode of RTW was almost hard to make it through!!! The Stephanie song made it all worth it. Youre the greatest… thank you for all you do.

  2. Mate, you have heard this enough times by now but the song, mate, the song! I won't re-quote anything here, guys. Go listen to it. Whomever the singer is is a far better singer than those two randos they got to sing in the actual show. And she was just farting around. Loved it all! Thank you so much! My lvoe to you, and yours, bruv! Just awesome, awesome stuff right here!

  3. This is it, the first RAW I ever watched.

Up until now, this series has been "what happened in the years before i started watching" from now until the end, it will be "I remember that"

At least for the WWF stuff, i never watched Nitro

  5. For all that people mention the Fingerpoke of Doom happening the same night as Mankind's championship win, the beginning of the McMahon-Helmsley regime happening the same night as WCW mocking a stroke victim is severely under-scrutinized.

  6. It's WCW episodes like this during the "Vince Russo" era that really made me question if he was a genius or if he didn't have any idea what he was doing. The Titanic nearing towards the iceberg would describe where this time period would be. Either that, or the WCW ship already hit the iceberg and was sinking.

  7. Quick question: Should I drink the cheapest bottle of Whisky when I get onto this episode of Nitro? (Onto 1997 in my WCW journey)

Its mainly because I really don't want to waste a good bottle of Whisky on it.

  8. Ehh. I used to think Ryan Shamrock was prettier when I was a kid but as an adult not a big fan. I still think from back then Terri Runnels is probably one of the prettier women from the new generation/attitude era time.
