Roadhog in 6v6 Overwatch was a Solo DPS controlling key areas of the map whilst his other tank draws attention away from the frontline. However, with one less tank in 5v5 Overwatch 2, his purpose becomes a bit…pointless.

  1. MINI RANT WITH REWORK ÌDEA: Roadhog is clearly a relic of 2016. A poorly designed tank that makes space through only the threat of one cooldown that has many prevalent answers in ow2. They will likely have to rework him to be more team oriented. He will lose his solo danger identity but its healthier for the game.

    Just thought of a possible rework for roadhog. Reduce his pellet damage from 6.6 to 6 again (150 dmg). Increase his hook damage to 50 and reduces its hitbox by roughly 10%. Take a breather now leaves an gaseous AoE that heals his allies for 40 hps and reduces his teammates ult generation by 20%. (Enemies gain less ult charge on teammates hit in the aoe including hog himself. It also makes enemies generate 10% more ult charge when in the aoe. Whole hog is now more fully a transformation ultimate. Increase its duration to 8 seconds. Hooking an enemy during whole hog stuns them an additional 1 second after being pulled. The AoE of take a breather is increased if used during whole hog. Giving the ults new potency, make hog have glowing red eyes or something during the ult (kind oflike how Cassidys eyes are glowing). I feel this would have the same affect as doomfist rework, preserving the character both gameplay wise and thematically while making them healthier and more viable.
    Clearification Edit: increase hogs ult cost by 10-15 percent or so. I would like yalls thoughts.

  2. The less hog gets played the better imo. This video is all true but a character with >1000 effective hp and a oneshot cd which, as you say, doesn't even require good mechanics to hit most of the time is so conceptually flawed that regardless of winrate I would always advocate a full rework rather than any buffs.

  3. Nice vid. I would definitely agree with you that Hog is the worst character in OW2 so far.
    It mostly comes down to his imo bad design.
    But I think the biggest factor is the lack of a second tank. Without a second tank to draw attention or negate things like long range damage, sleep and anti nade Hog just has too much to deal with.

  4. I mean I’m basically a hog 1 trick since 2016 and I’m trying other tanks in ow2 beta when I start losing I go hog and crush everything. I think he’s underrated in this game but if you can’t land at least 1 in 2 hooks and don’t have at least 30% weapon accuracy your probably better off going someone else.

    He now has 700 health basically can’t be killed when he uses his take a breather. I nearly pick up double kills every ult now with the change. Considering the game is more 1 v 1 duelling and less stun, along with the recent armor change. I believe hog is one of the better tanks.

    Am I biased probably but I literally out kill out damage and even out heal my other team mates with low deaths and some damage mtg too. The only time in my opinion that hog can’t be played is if that moira buff goes through and they run Anna and her together.

  5. Bro idk about your doom comments, like yes he is very mobile and yes his dmg is way down due to him being in the tank role. We all agree those things are good BUT can we plz talk about how bad his kit is! Noticed how all you talked about is punch slam, it’s cuz he only has those two abilities. His power block NEEDS to do something other than make him a easy sleep target
