  1. Just picked this game up for the first time ever and HOLY SHIT why did it take me so long!! The call of duty-ness really threw me off at first, but I'm glad the upgrades and powerups came quick. I'm just getting to downtown and so far it hasn't been too big a challenge, but goddamn mowing down nazis with the mp43 is a fuckin power trip!

but why is BJ a totally different dude than literally all the other games?!

  2. People shit on this game, but I really liked it. Wish I could find a digital version. Still have my CD though. Seeing that price tag, I should probably sell it…

  3. The company that gave us Soldier of Fortune 1 and 2, squeezed this out of its snatch. The only toxic thing to happen in the gaming industry is corporations buying out smaller studios.

  4. This is the first id Tech 4 game to have water. Did you see the volumetric waterfall at the beginning of the game? Lovely stuff. I didn't hate the game back then, it was just a little repetitive. Definitely suffered from design shortcomings rather than quality, it was a reasonably polished experience from a technical standpoint.

  5. Honestly, while arguably my least favorite Wolfenstein FPS that I've played (I haven't played Youngblood), I still really liked this. It had some cool ideas and arguably one of the most satisfying weapons in any shooter (the particle cannon looks, sounds, and kills beautifully), and while I definitely prefer the direction MachineGames took the series and especially B.J. as a character, I still enjoy Raven Software's weird stab at it.

  6. Beautiful game, fun, multi-layered, customization, great enemies and levels… etc. Another awesome Raven game like so many. Splitting hairs and nit-picking it and comparing it to generic FPS games doesn't work… it's not comparable. This game is it's own beast. Many people simply didn't know about this game when it came out, I saw it at Best Buy when they were still selling games on shelves and I saw Raven and Id software logos on it and immediately bought it. I was excited I saw this game and those 2 companies on the box… that was an immediate purchase in my world because I know if a game was made by those 2 companies it would be awesome.

    Ima dis you now…. πŸ™ˆ

You also stole this game which didn't help the company, hardly played it, then judged it. And you're not that great at these games so stop whining. You play like a 12 year old. You're just like my cousin.

    Take that.

You ever insult Raven Software again or any of their products or compare them to other shit companies and their shit products I will find you. 😑

    I will find you.

(Hexen and Hexen 2 are awesome).

  9. If you finish the campaign in whatever difficulty you choose then you’ll see that you move at the correct speed for the game’s design you whinging PC Elitist.

Hey Civvie? Remember back when I called you a whinging PC elitist? Well things were different back then, I was a little messed up but I’ve changed now and I’m sorry for what I did.

  10. Great video, thank you! I think it speaks for itself that even one of the devs is happy with it. Again, great stuff!
3:00 I got a free copy of Starfield with my new mobo and didn't even bother with redeeming the voucher.

  11. Thanks for doing this video Civvie. Ive always felt this game was unfairly hated. I don't like Call of Duty style shooters either, but I never felt like I was playing one when I played this. It just feels too good. And I don't care how overused it was around the time, any game that gives me bullet time was going to make me happy.

  12. Youngblood sucks and its cringe, but you can get it for 5$ on steam sale coming with buddy pass, so you can invite your friends and just kill nazis in coop for few dozen hours.

Its not a great game but at least they knew what they are doing and didnt release it for 69,99$ and 159$ deluxe edition bullshit, they knew they are selling crap so it was cheap.

  13. 27:23 — RE: "We save Kurt Vonnegut down here…"; …. because Mr. Vonnegut was captured in the Battle of the Bulge, and sent to Dresden as a POW. BJ Blaskowitz is highly likely to get unstuck in time too, come to think of it.
