The Winged Tyranid Prime is begging for a 360 spin

It looks good, but the Winged Tyranid Prime is one of those models that needs MORE ANGLES. A good model, I like it, but it doesn’t photograph that well because there is a LOT going on!

  1. The one downside to this wing pose, is that it makes wing patterns harder.
Or maybe it's more that wing patterns are just so easy with spread wings, as you can just go in and paint or airbrush them on, no need to estimate how the folds distort and hide the pattern.

Still really like the model, I do hope that we'll get a Shrike box with options for a winged prime, analogue to the Warriors, just so we're not stuck with scything talons, even though they look really cool.

  2. I have 2 problems with this bad boy, first is the pose, maybe not hive tyrant level of pose but something more impossing, second is the wing positiok, it feels weird having the wings beneath the arms, i prefer the wings behind the arms, maybe having it like that could change the options for a more impossing pose, maybe like its landing or about to start flying instead of mid air.

  3. im 100% with you
i think this angle REALLY doesnt show it off well, i hope it looks better from other angles but from this one to me it looks like its doing the thriller dance while falling over
i feel like side on it will look amazing, but here idk, it just hasnt wowed me

  4. this pose looks really shite, lob sided, top heavy. and the wings are wrong, they are just arms rather than the wing membranes running down the body and are in the wrong place, gargoyle and flyrant are both top winged, this is bottom winged

it does not look terrifying that tyranids should be, very little thought was put into this model

the new style of tyranid is fantastic, but the pose choices for this model is just piss poor

  5. I don't really agree on the "identifability" aspect, how do you tell a Repulsor and Executioner apart, they look almost the same too, it's not a big deal. I think the pose is so you can have him and his mates squished up together in melee without the wings knocking each other about for sure.

  6. I don’t really like the pose at all. It’s a nice model but the wings should be spread out it would fit the model better. The purpose of wings on a model is to look glorious, folding them in, from purely an aesthetic standpoint, is a waste of potential

  7. "With the wings open it would be hard to differentiate the two."
Ah yes, the Tyranid Prime begin a fancy Tyranid Warrior, that's half the size of the Tyrant…Yes it would be hard to tell them apart…
