From The Who’s My Generation to Sex Pistols’ God Save The Queen and Even Bobby Pickett’s Monstermash and Blondie’s Atomic have all been subject to bans from the BBC. But sometimes, the reason for the bans aren’t exactly straightforward.

  1. The follow up to Hawkwind Silver Machine was Urban Guerilla, unfortunately the time of release coincided with car bombing in cities across the UK during the "Troubles" in Northern Ireland, this was the reason for the ban, remember released in 1972 and sounding very much like the Punk movement of 1976!!! 😊

  2. Love it, the BBC "wanted to get to the bottom of it!" They knew of accusations against Saville back then! but did nothing about that! We have to pay a TV licence? What gives the BBC the right to restrict our viewing? We should not be 'Mothered' by the BBC as to what they think is right or wrong! If the BBC think it's wrong & ban it, I will find it somewhere else! The BBC should not 'dictate' what we should view…WE FLOCKIN PAY FOR IT!

  3. Shame the self- righteous bastards didn't Ban Jimmy Saville . Roger's stutter was deliberate , Why don't you all F F F , if you don't know what every kid hearing it didn't fill in the Gaps with , I can't help you . BBC are Morons , every time anything is banned by anyone , Everybody wants to see or hear it . Bans are the best free Advertising for anything .
