  1. I’d rather take Maye and trust the staff to get the Josh Allen type of potential out of him. Maye’s elite natural arm talent while also being a very good runner (obviously not on Jayden’s level) imo gives him more upside, especially when you see how many straight up ridiculous plays/throws he makes seemingly every game

  2. You can't pass on Drake Maye……Daniels aint built to last, need a franchise QB to start the next 10-12 years. And you're mistaken on Daniels arm, nowhere near the same level as Williams or Maye.

  3. No thanks to Jayden Daniels. One good year in college out of 5 years? Broke out in his 5th year? And during his one good year his future 1st round WRs in Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr accounted for 54% of all receptions, 62% of all receiving yards, and 70% of all receiving touchdowns on the entire team? This dude has bust written ALL OVER HIM. I would rather draft JJ McCarthy, Penix, or Bo Nix than draft Jayden Daniels. Why is everyone out here trying to emulate Dan Snyder? Stop it! You guys are smarter than this.

  4. "Break" the NFL? That would barely register. Trade for Fields. Draft Harrison Jr at 2 to pair with scary Terry. Fix O and D lines via rest of draft and free agency. Resign Howell if he doesnt want too much $$. That would throw everyone into a tissy.

  5. EB’s problem was lack of consistency in game planning and trying to put a square peg in a round hole. EB’s passing tree philosophy was predicated on way too many vertical concepts. Vertical concepts that took forever to develop with a bad pass blocking line. Howell , who is prone to holding the ball to long to begin with, was asked to make throws on passing routes that too way to long to develop. Had EB run the ball more and included more fast pass and tempo, I think the season would have looked differently and he would not be out of a job right now.

  6. As a Commanders fan, I'm going to have faith in Kliff Kingsbury & the new Coaching Staff. I looked him up after he came to us & I was surprised, almost shocked of the QB's he brought to his College's. He scouted, then coached QB's & called plays:
    1) '08-'11 Houston OC/QB Coach: In '08 Kingsbury helped Case Keenum rank 1st Nationally in Total Offense & 2nd in Total Pass Yards & when they both left in '11 Keenum was NCAA All-time leader in Total Pass Yards, TD's & Comp. & his Cougars Averaged 50 pts & 600 yds / game.
    2) '12 Texas A&M OC: Coached Johnny Manziel to a Heisman trophy. Kingsbury & Manziel led the Aggies & the SEC in Rushing, Passing, Scoring & Total Offense. Kingsbury led the nation's only offense ranked in Top 15 of NCAA stats in all 4 Categories. When Kingsbury left in '13 to Texas Tech, Manziel fell to fifth in the Heisman.
    3) '13 Texas Tech HC: Baker Mayfield is a Walk-On & Kingsbury chooses him as a true Freshman & is named Big 12 Off. Player of the Week. Mayfield left Texas Tech for Ok. & won '17 Heisman. In '14-'16 he coached Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes went 10th overall in NFL draft.
    4) '19-'22 Az. Cardinals HC: Become HC and he & Cardinals choose Kyler Murray.
    5) '23 USC Offense Analyst: Hired solely to work closely with Caleb Williams because of his work with great college QB's.

He has worked with 4 former Heisman winners (Possibly 5 if Mahomes comes back for his Sr. year), 3 former First Overall QB picks (Should be 4 with Mahomes going 10th) and has many years where his school led in many Offensive Categories.
He has sucked as a HC but developing QB's, developing an innovative Offense and calling plays he's awesome at.

  7. Out of 58 Super Bowls, 21 have been won by a QB chosen within the first 5 picks of the 1st round. 8 QB’s drafted as the overall # 1 pick have accounted for 18 Super Bowl wins. 3 out of the 8 came from the Pac 12 conference. However, no USC quarterback has ever even started in a Super Bowl.

  8. I'll take Maye and here's why. As a Commanders fan, you can't get this pick wrong. We had RG III, picked at #2 also, who was a Running QB, and we're still paying for it 12 years later. If we select Daniels & he gets hurt like RG III we'll be paying for another 12 years. As a fan, i can't stand that thought.
Now, I know you can't draft out of fear but after seeing RG III I'm not a believer in the running QB, at least how they're used today. Randall Cunningham was one of the best running QB's ever, was 6'4" 215lbs, which is close to Daniels but, he averaged 425 yards per season. Now a days, they have QB's rushing for over 1k yards in a season. That's double to triple the attempts, which can and will get a QB hurt. RG III was crushed by a 330 lb DT when he went running across the field. He never had time to slide because he didn't see he was there.
And, if a QB has played one way his entire life it's almost impossible to teach him another way. If a QB is a great runner and other teams devote a spy to him or the back field has to keep an eye on him, this now allows the WR's/TE's to get an extra step of space on their defenders and when the QB decides to throw he doesn't have to be as accurate because his guys have more space. When the QB speed starts to lessen b/c of age or injuries, he no longer has that extra space because no one fears him anymore, he needs to be more accurate but because he always had that speed he has never had to work on his accuracy to that degree. Or, and perhaps most important, once his speed lessens he needs to know how to read Defense's and Pre-Read Defense's that much more but he has never needed to work on that because if all else failed he could run.
Bottom line is, if you want a QB for 15 years and take you to the promise land multiple times you need a QB like Manning, Brady or Mahomes. Mahomes will run but he usually runs like 325 yards a season, not 1,325 yards a season. Maye is athletic & can run, he's just not a freak athlete like Daniels is.
I'm not saying Maye will ever be one of those guys but he has a better chance than Daniels because of their different styles of play.

Ya mean what Jayden did for one year at LSU. With two first round NFL receivers and one of the best offensive lines in the SEC. His other FOUR years ok to bad. And you can’t just throw one on one post routes and go balls at the next level. He needs to show he can put the ball on a rope and attack the center of the field from the pocket. Ie. crossing routes, deep outs, splitting the zone seams routes etc. Cause we haven’t seen those. Rarely anything.
