  1. This movie was actually pulled from theaters cause real life rival grangs would go to see the film at the same time & all hell would break loose!
But if you guys enjoyed this then check out the movie "Judgement Night" starring Emilio Estevez, Cuba Gooding jr. Stephen Dorff & Dennis Leary.
Very similar to "The Warriors" but a totally different movie. Different situation & storyline that is definitely worth a watch!

  2. I have been waiting for reactions to this, as it was a massive cult hit over here in the UK.
Lots of fans (I'm talking what you would call thugs who would go intentionally to fight with rivals from the opposing teams, not normal boring fans ) of smaller football teams here were hooked on how a seemingly smaller and in some ways insignificant or obscure gang could actually become respected amongst the elite.
Several groups adopted a similar style of clothing (I mean like a uniform, not copying anything from the film as it was far too weird and American for us here) and thought of names suitable for the UK scene – whether or not this influenced the eventual development of organised gangs (With names like Bushwackers, Headhunters, Baby Squad, Zulu Warriors) who even left business cards on their defeated opponents, and wore designer clothing by Ralph Lauren, Pringle, Stone Island to go and fight, is debatable.
As others have said, it's impossible to overstate the impact this film had at the time, as it was so very different but based on a reality we could all understand.

  3. Saw this movie when it first came out. Being from NYC I thought it was great. I know a few guys who were hired on as extras 3 of them actually had cameos in it as different gang members at the beginning.
