Today is a solemn day for me. After over 9 months hard work, long discussion, days of setup, my Scenario 2 campaign with Hellsen has come to an abrupt end. He’s thrown in the towel and is surrendering.
But I’ve got a special treat. I have his files and his password, and we are going to take a look at the campaign from his side and see where everything was at and what sort of condition he was really in.

it looks like no more supply to china, he could win a few battles and still lose china. he maybe tried something different with his american military, and it looked to him like it would not work.
can you save 1.5 version and make it available for everyone
Congratulations
You played well as your first Japanese campaign, but it feels like Hellsen didn't even bother to play the game. You took territory but the Allies simply pulled everything back to the map edges and watched you play from then on. I think it's a bit insulting to have you play all these turns and then give up. I can see giving up in the Lodrick game where he gave you a bunch of big battles and you fought him hard, but the Allies just giving up without a fight seems cheap.
Maybe Heiden was planning to play a game of (give up land slowly and bleed you out over time, with a future counter attack being planned from the strong India /China line.
But i feel you may have caught him somewhat off balance.
I guess we'll never know just how this would have played out, but it was fun to watch.
I see some similarities between Heidens setup in this one and my own when playing allied games against the AI.
I have also done the same thing with my subs in a recent game to good effect, but the mk 14s made the USN subs far less effective than the Dutch ones.
GG, i've learned a lot from this.
If anything the scenario 2 might make it hard for him to recover, plus all those Chinese troops are now cut off from supply. Also the strategic bombing points hurt him a lot which is why many Allied players have that as a house rule to not strat bomb
Thats super disappointing , he wasnt in a bad spot. This game could have easily lasted to 43-44 :/
No apologies required. Congrats on your win. I would add a Navy term here, but there might be sensitive people reading this.😮
I learn something from almost all your videos. As an aside, I've learned heaps and heaps from THG. Then again, I'm only on/in my first game, so lots to absorb/learn. It is presently impossible to play with any consistency (routine/schedule) vs a human.
I don't know if you have covered, perhaps a noob/basic technique, but I am having thee darndest time getting my carrier fighters to escort my carrier strikes. Fighter sweeps, no probs. But riding herd on my airstrikes, it's flip a coin. I just lost another 18 Helldivers because they flew into a Zero-sen buzsaw while the F6F/F4U nuggets were having a steel beach picnic. The worst example was when over 40 SBDs once flew an airfield strike, and no escort went with them. Only a handful of damaged dauntless' came back. Sometimes the ftrs go with, a lot of times they don't.
Thank you for your videos.
Congrats. He is a very good player. You did well early that broke his morale midgame.
Thanks for hours and hours of entertainment on this campaign!
What I'd really like to see is kind of a wrap-up conference with both players and maybe even someone neutral discussing the main operations of the campaign, their overall strategy, decisions, mistakes and surprises as well as their thoughts on the end state of the campaign, now that the whole map is revealed.
Also, it seems, victory was more a result of low morale by the allies which may have interfered with a clear assessment of the actual strategic and tactical situation.
And never forget, there's usually an IRL component, too, with time consuming and challenging games like this.
Well played! Its a big shame that this game ended like this though. Seems like Allied high command really doubled down on the "germany first" strategy… XD
