Once upon a time zombies were that novelty monster. While zombies are part of Vudon lore out of Haiti, the modern zombie is the whole cloth creation of horror master George Romero who created the landmark Night of the Living Dead. If there’s any indication that he didn’t know that he would be starting a cultural phenomenon, it’s that even the movie itself isn’t protected intellectual property. The filmmaker never put a copyright symbol on the prints which was required for copyright at the time. Since then Romero style zombies have become a cult favorite monster that hit the mainstream when Robert Kirkman’s comic book about a group of Survivors during a zombie apocalypse became an unexpected phenomenon on AMC, the network that had previously shook things up with their show Mad Men. Like Mad Men, The Walking Dead helped change the landscape of television. Part of the new Golden Age and an early entry into what became known as prestige television. That’s a fancy way of saying spending feature film money on a TV series when TV had been the red headed step child of entertainment that at the time was being given over to reality tv that was cheaper to produce. After 11 seasons we finally say a goodbye to the series, but only kinda as one spin off has already run its episodes and three more wait in the wings to join Fear the Walking Dead and the Walking Dead Universe. I was expecting more of the main cast to die.
God, it must be so exhausting watching a soap opera with zombies this long.
Boringverse
Everywhere they go they cause trouble. 1000s are dead because of them
I can barely follow or care. God this is lame. How did they carry on for 11 seasons.
remember when this show was about some people just trying to survive in a zombie apocalypse? me too.
why r they still fighting zombies at this point? dont they know how to control them?
Man this show got wacky. Glad I didn't stick around
I wasn't satisfied with the ending, after all 11 season I thought there would have been more of an ending. wish we got to see more of Rick not just right at the end
Rather Michone died than Rosita
How do you dont know who made her armor? Wakandans of course!
what the hell is up with all this storm trooper, lol
i've been on and off on walking dead, but I'm seriously turned off after Glenn's death
they spinning it off right ? with Daryl ? oh dude's got a big bucks by himself
what happen to Michone? he and Rick got pregnant or sumthin ?
Hey you you who are a bad person yeah thats right why i wanted more intel about rick not a recap of the past 11 season correct title and thombnail pic would be huge solid for everyone don't ya think
So it hasn't ended at all, and it's explained nothing ffs…. So glad I stopped watching it at season 7.
Endless intrigue and lack of answers have killed the show
this show was still on?
Not gonna like a Rick Michonne vs dystopian regime like The Last of Us sounds sick
Maggie better get off her high horse and just forgive Negan already! Look I get she was upset with Negan and I totally understand. I'd feel the same way but they have bigger problems right now! Negan poured his heart out by saying he knows how she felt when he was on his knees and his wife. I'm just saying Maggie better stop acting all high and mighty in the spin off show
Rick said somewhere in season 5 “we are the waking dead”
Wtf happened to this show?!
Wym after 11 seasons he said he wasent the walking dead he’s always protested that ever since Rick gave the we are the walking dead speech in the barn he Daryl even says said “we ain’t them” disagreeing with Rick
as usual, they killed off some 'main' characters from time to time throughout the whole series. I knew they had to kill off at least 1 to 3, 4 characters in the series finale, they picked Rosita, Luke and Jules. certainly Luke and Jules were not really ones of the main characters but Rosita was since the season 5. well they killed off less main characters as I would expect.
as for Daryl leaving doesn't make sense, it doesn't matter he is out there looking for rick and/or michonne or any other purposes, it will be like looking for a needle in a haystack. remember he will be alone by himself out there. no way he will survive like that. also how about food, weapons and etc.. of course the walking dead is just a fictional TV drama, everything can happen depending on the writing of the story. additionally it's a setup for a new walking dead series.
This ending only exists because we have spin-offs. Yes some emotional moments, but almost no stakes at place. I feel like Rick and Michonne will be what everyone has wanted, but without tye interactions we also want. Feels like every spin off will lead to one last movie length show to end things ( like El Camino ) I hope that is what happens
I stopped watching when they killed Carl that’s when the show went down
What could possibly need explaining about the ending?
Damn this show looks bad now with the stormtroopers and wakanda armor I’m glad I stopped watching when Carl died.
Ok and I'm sorry if I sound rude. But you shouldn't be doing commentary if you're gonna be calling the crm the helicopter people. We know who they are already..
i feel like its not ended
Falling skies did a tv series right, have a defined beginning, middle and end, they planned it out to be no longer than 5 seasons (after that viewer numbers fall off a cliff) and they never did a spin off or brought it back to life.
“Will we find out who the helicopter people are?” Really? A TWD YouTube recapper who doesn’t know about the CRM?
Only first season was amazing 🙏
Rick already named dropped the title in season 5. He says “We are the Walking Dead.”
What happened to Virgil? And Fake-Stephanie and the other spies?
