Not finding no black person there!
In the ending it stated no party or individual had excepted responsibility for the lives lost I’m confused how was it anyone’s fault it was unacceptable that the local rescue refused to go get the injured and should be responsible for that for sure I mean isn’t that what rescue does?
I only got to see this Island from afar. Too sad this tragedy happened. 💔
What a powerful documentary. Anyone that perished or survived with burns and disfigured bodies are true warriors. God bless these beautiful souls. It doesn't matter what the flesh is like it's the heart and keen spirit that matters in the end. Prayers continued everyday for each one of these beautiful people. Very moving documentary .
Muy triste lo que pasaron pero nunca debió de ser un lugar para visitantes. No es una isla a la que vas a disfrutar de un paseo, lo que se ve es la punta del volcán y literalmente estuvieron ahí.
90 minutes of gut-wrenching scenes and heartbreaking personal stories of the injured and the bereaved. This is the first I've heard about the tragedy. Can't believe no-one has accepted responsibility for this, allowing tourist parties onto White Island when the volcano was at level 2. RIP the 21 people who lost their lives that day. 😪💔
I watched this yesterday and got so emotional i was crying 😩 that scene of boat Phoenix coming back with all the speed they got hit me so deep i watched it 6 times, the survivors are one of the strongest ppl especially that young men who lost his family omg what an intense experience
Let me get this right. You idiots went into an active volcano and you idiots want sympathy. 100% dumb asses.
This was intense, just watched it. Can’t imagine what the living and the dead went through. Jesse losing his entire immediate family and he’s still carrying on — what strength. I’ve lost both my parents to cancer & I can barely bring myself to get out of bed most days. God be with them all, here and departed ❤️
The Maori mans speech at at the end was moving and comforting. "…Whakaari has given her sanction, her consent, to have them there as guardians, kaitiaki for evermore. They take their place in time where they will never be forgotten"
How the fk people are so dumb to go there? It's not an amusement park.
It was a inspiring story until you read the aftermath of lawsuits and blame game afterwards. Word of advise, if you are doing something dangerous, sign a waiver which includes listing next of kin, then claim you didn’t know the danger? New Zealand I understand set up a fund to pay for all the medical expense and loss revenue for those that died, but now they are attacking pilots and suing in the good ole USA. What happens when Yellowstone or Hawaii erupts? I feel sorry for all of them, but don’t believe they didn’t know it’s dangerous to stand on the edge of an active Volcano! Really!
Someone should pay for this, and pay dearly.
To go onto a dagger zone with just a safety helmet is laughable.
There were warnings, but money rules.
New Day of shame.
I watch this and was in tears at the end, so so sad
This was an excellent documentary.
When will you release the original score music. There are so many beautiful music especially towards the end. Please I am begging you Netflix. Why you never release original music score for your series I will never understand !!!
Lauren and Matt Urey's love for each melted my heart like the skin melted off the victims bodies.
To the boy who lost his father mother and sister, if you ever read this: You are strong, you are one of the strongest individuals I ever witnessed. My honest respect, you will bring it far in live.
Mark Law for Prime Minister
Está feo, lo hubieran hecho tipo película aburre
As horrible as it was, for the love of God it pisses me off when the one guy said "If I would have known how dangerous it was he wouldn't have gone………….." For the love of GOD you were going to an active volcano surely you DONT need Informed consent to understand the dangers. . Just be thankful you survived!! Be thankful you can live to tell about it. Life is not without risks or dangers!
To the young man that lost his parents and sister, and all of the other survivors you are what makes this world a great place. To know there is strength in adversity, love overcomes blame, and that sometimes in life NO ONE is to blame. Live your best lives <3
Now, this is a documentary Netflix not some spoiled entitled brats called Harry and Meghan you PAID one million dollars to!
Don’t tour active volcanos
Why are you even by that volcano knowing it can go off at any moment just stupid that’s like me going by some poison snakes knowing well I could get bit at any moment
Incredible story. I understand what the editors were trying to do with the stitching of different clips, but it took away from the viewing experience. Very nauseating. It even triggered a migraine.
I just finished this and tears were flowing. R.I.P to all the victims, and God bless all the people who helped 😢
That’s what happens when U walk on a volcano!!!!!
You don't see no people from Baltimore on there good! We aren't going to no active volcano!
This really shows people’s true beauty and strength to overcome.
To the lady concerned about scars and feeling the need to explain to others, you are infinitely more concerned than those across from you. It’s normal for people to advert their eyes and attention to even the smallest differences, temporarily. When cognizant and especially worried or insecure, we will make more out of something than it is. You are beautiful and emit grace.
Why were they allowed to go to that island on that day, with a Level 2 Warning. This is obscene negligence right? How did this happen, was it profit over risk? A volcano that erupts that often should not be a bloody tourist spot, but it was and look at the horrendous trajedy that happened.
I hope local aithroities in other dangerous hot spots around the world will take action and not put people in danger in the name of profit in future.
One more thing, this is tough to say becasue the poor man lost his life that day, and I wish him a resting peace; but why was Hayden so relaxed and non-chalant about the MAJOR warning signs on the island. He should have known better and gotton everyone off the island. I hate to say it, but he holds some accountabiltliy for this horror, or at thevery least, the tour company should have trained their employees better, or better yet, not send tourists out there whe the risk is high. Dreadful
Just watched it, I cried at Jesse. He lost his mum, Dad and sister. Heartbreaking
I don't get the part about no one has yet taken responsibility at the end. I just don't get it. It's an active volcano, there are risks, surely the people would have signed something for that. It's just a horrendous tragedy but I don't think anyone has to necessarily admit responsibility or maybe if it was that much of a risk no tours should have happened in the first place. You can hardly stop mother nature
Just watched it-too much, why people put themselves in harm's way is incomprehensible to me-
Very boring and anoying how stupid people can be
Hate to lay blame but it starts with the thrill seekers. Walking on an active volcano has to be up there on the list of behaviors to avoid. Climbing Everest, jungle safaris chasing lions, swimming in water with alligators, eventually something bad is eventually going to happen if you do it. Surprised New Zealand government would let the public on that island. It erupted in 2013, 2016 and right on schedule in 2019. There were people going out there EVERY DAY!! This in spite of the volcano itself showing clear signs of blowing, they mention the elevated risk level of 2–that's for a reason people. Once a volcano starts churning, going out for a stroll on the damn thing in shorts and a T-shirt is not smart………
Jesse is such a strong person, truly an inspiration. May god bless all the survivors, and the families of the beautiful lives that were lost that day.
Only a dumb farkin American betch would be standing meters from a volcano crater and ask "if there's an eruption, what do I do???" . You farkin clown 🤡, stick yal dumb asz head up yal shitty aszhole and hope and pray your dopey inbred asz lives
WTF
In the country where my parents come from, people fear the ocean and volcanoes. Many events have shown them that nature is unpredictable and should never be challenged. Never go where the locals themselves do not go…
Just watched this. Amazing number of heros, and the usual idiots where so called bureaucrats are suing pilots etc for endangering themselves whilst trying to rescue people, didn't they get purple hearts for that in the war ??
and I think 'if' it was the documentary team who coached the interviews to get people to say ' well you have to do the right thing', far too many interviewees said the same or similar thing, which to be honest belittled much of the heroism, eg. you hear people may be in serious trouble on an island where a volcano has erupted, you have a helicopter mmmm ' what's the right thing to do here?' you don't need to state ' I chose to do the right thing' you just do it, so interviewee coaches, not good.
No radio antenna on the island ' just in case' with a volcano known to go off every 3 years according to the documentary , duh. really. and with that, almost useless first aid kits? nothing if someone tripped and put a hand in one of the hot sulphur pools ?
Hindsight is always 20/20 and best wishes to everyone who survived.
