Disney/Pixar’s “Cars” franchise is a raging success! With multiple sequels and spinoffs like “Cars On The Road,” we can’t help but be curious about what kind of talent is behind bringing our favorite cars to life. Naturally, we’ve got Owen Wilson behind our favorite protagonist, Lightning McQueen. The role of Lightning McQueen was actually Own Wilson’s very first voice credit in an animated film. It makes sense that he would continue on down the path of animation booking roles in films like “The Fantastic Mr. Fox” and “Free Bird.” We also have the fabulous Kerry Washington on the list, which could be a surprise for her fans considering her usual dramatic roles in shows like “Scandal” and films like “Django Unchained,” but she’s actually a huge fan of Disney/Pixar and the “Cars” franchise. She also loves the fact that she can finally show her kids a project that she’s been in. Did you know the racecar driver Lewis Hamilton got to be the voice of himself in “Cars 2?” Something a little less obvious he came back for was his role as Cruz’s electronic personal assistant, Hamilton, in “Cars 3.” Lewis Hamilton isn’t the only racecar star in the film, either. They based the character Junior “Midnight” Moon off of the legendary NASCAR driver Junior Johnson. Even his character’s car was based on his old ‘39 Ford! Junior Johnson won over fifty NASCAR races before his retirement in 1966. We’ve got a lot more interesting names to talk about, so stick around until the end of the video!

  1. One time there was this mom I knew that was a huge Harry Potter fan welll she got pregnant and the first thing she does was try to make the kid into Harry Potter. When he was like 5 he could see good after a eye test so she kept putting egg whites in his eyes to make his vision bad so he had to ware glasses like Harry Pott

  7. Disney/Pixar’s cars One of the most ambitious and creative projects of its time. This was not only to convince the audience that the world of talking vehicles could work, but also to connect the audience to its characters. Thankfully, it worked and kickstarted a franchise that is now as beloved as it was when it first appeared.

    Cars was also a movie packed full of emotion, and the themes it explored, most specifically the idea that you should always remain true to your friends, easily resonated with young viewers, who found it easy to access the story being told.
