The Osprey is one of those concepts that looks great on paper, but practically doesn't serve much better purpose than other vehicles that already exist. Should've sold it to the civilian market where Delta, United and FedEx can use it to greater effect. Why the civilian market? Because private industry with continued adding patches and band aids until it literally either works perfectly or fails spectacularly.
I am a vet and I guess I just can't understand why we replace perfectly good helicopters with this bird. If these problems arise in a war do you call time out to ground & fix the birds or just take the losses?
Go back in history. Every aircraft must work through its operational issues. The B-29 had engine fires, the B-36 had leaking fuel in the wings, the B-52 had structural issues at low level, the Phrog Ch47 had engine issues. The only way these problems were found was by operatonal tempo. Ë
Critics are calling the Osprey a “flying death trap”

Osprey is a great craft, but the design is new and needs patches and maturing.
I live in New Mexico and I heard about this but I didn't know it was here
Good.
Why don't they just redesign a whole new olpresy And sell the rest to Russia

Horrible Aircraft. There's a reason why the soviets abandoned such designs and why little to no other major military has followed it.
They are expensive amd very hard to maintain and need a lot of training.
The cost benefit just doesn't seem worth it
