The Unkillable Man | Rimworld: Twilight #11

Allow me to continue to be sponsor free and keep saying naughty words: https://www.patreon.com/MrSamuelStreamer

10 ragtag colonists from across the many Rimworld factions and xenotypes find themselves united at the foot of the world tree – an enormous anima tree that provides light and life to an otherwise doom planet, frozen and shrouded in darkness ever since a mysterious force blew up the nearby star.

This is a hardcore survival series set on a world of total darkness and non-stop cold. We start with 10 colonists and no other human beings on the planet. No raiders, no traders, no wildmen, nothing. When someone dies our colony is irrevesibly set back forever.

  1. I'm sorry to hear that you can no longer drink tea, but Tea Review had me believing that you couldn't taste tea anyway, so hopefully once you get over the caffeine withdrawal you won't be missing too much

  2. I've watched a 1970 version of lose yourself and one comment said to listen to it to .75, it's amazing. I have however forgotten that fact and watched this entire episode wandering what kind of drugs mr streamer is on currently, highly reccommend it.

  3. Christian is hella of a true survivor in this episode as he fight for his life against the numerous amount of wolves, gorehulks, and other void monsters. Then how about Christian about to survive against a Devourer to see how he can resist death in the end then.

  4. i really like this series and trust that mr streamer will stop playing it if he Really Actually hates it. i looooove the constrained nature, focus on characters + resource management…… even if Some colonists seem to think repopulation is a bigger priority than it really is

  5. 1000 mg of caffeine from tea alone? That’s insane! That’s also like two and a half times the recommended daily intake of caffeine for an adult. I’m not surprised that your doctor would tell you to lay off the caffeine if that’s how much you normally consume.

  6. It would be cool if Rimworld gameplay was more character driven.

So that the game feels more like you are their leader trying to manage the colony, rather than in vanilla where you are some kind of omnipotent god controlling them.

Like a good doctor would immediately tell you if a wound may be life threatening, therefore you get a notification much earlier than vanilla.

With a bad one you might never get the life threating notification.

A lazy doctor might not do their job even tough their job priority would dictate them too.

A rebelious pawn will constantly violate the area restrictions. Or craft stuff you never set as a bill.

A gluttonous or low impulse control pawn will just cook up a lavish meal on their own even tough you are running out of food.

So instead of the pawns not doing what you want them to do because of some bug or some dumb gameplay mechanic or because you forgot something, they actually do it on purpose.

Make it so that a pawns traits, back stories and skills actually have a noticable effect on the game. It already kinda works like that, but not very convincingly

  7. Sounds of conflict were nothing so new to the colony. To the children growing and learning here, to whom the state of things is how it has always been, there was not much new about it. There was a newness however, in the fact that for one, the sounds were only a room over. The squelching of weapons sinking into distorted flesh, the thunk of bodies hitting the floor. The second major difference, was that to the children of the colony, it did not sound like their parents were winning.

    "Christian!"

"Shit, they have him surrounded! Neal!?"

    "Can't! I can't reach him!"

The three children were huddled together, against the far wall from where the conflict was happening. They all tensed when the loud shouts came through, who exactly was yelling an unknown to them through the heavy sounds of conflict. Still though, they caught roughly what was happening.

Retstab, mother of two of the three, soon to be mother of three, was panting out heavy breaths, her eyes winced closed as she heard what the same things as them. Winkle, still only 10 years old, glanced around, looking at everyone present. She balled his small fists up tight, taking a few calming breaths.

"G-Guys, I-I think we can help, I-I need to gather some blood."

The others all looked around nervously. Glizzy was the first to shakily nod his head. "Go ahead, if you think it'll help." He bared his small neck, and Binkle approached, sinking his small fangs in and drinking from the boy. She didn't take much, pulling away after a few seconds.

"N-Need more." The others all nodded as well, gathering their courage to help their family. One by one, each child offered themselves up, feeding the young man far more than he had ever been fed on blood.

Retstab, lifting herself up slightly to look at her child. Spoke between faint breaths. "Winkle. We're hard to kill, not immortal. Don't…Don't be stupid."

The young women let out a shaky breath, almost a laugh but not quite. "Thanks for the confidence mom."

She stared at the door out for a long moment, flinching as a thick black spine of some kind shot halfway through the wall, revealed in the campfire's light. She shook her head, and ran outside.

It was cold out of the room, and the sounds that had been muffled were now immensely loud, reverberating in her chest as she frantically took in the situation. She sprinted towards the epicenter of the chaos, seeing the different people who had raised her all up in arms. The nearest one, Hati, an aunt, glanced at her, before doing a double take. "Child?!"

"I can help! A little more blood! Quick!"

The woman surveyed the situation in an instant, nodding. "Quick quick." She kneeled down, and Winkle latched on quick, taking much larger and much faster gulps, until she felt almost completely full. She pulled away with a gasp, before running towards where she could vaguely see a human figure on the ground. She had to duck, spins shot from the grotesque monstrosities assaulting the only home she had ever known. The confusing twin aunts Mabrei and Mabrei were both elbows deep in blood and gore, shouting and fighting, their axes more often inside of creatures than out. They both saw her, and both didn't speak, retuning to their battle, fighting a little harder.

Each of the adults knew why she was there, familiar with her mothers power, and they all surged in strength and ferocity, giving her room to make her mad dash. She got to Christian, a man who was like a second father to her. The man who made the walls which protect them, lying unconscious, blood soaked body creating it's own pool from his dizzying array of wounds.

She huffed several quick shallow panicked breaths. Her heart was a war drum, adrenaline flooding her system in such quantities she felt like she could almost feel the chemical in her blood. Special glands in her wrist opened, blood shooting out of them and down onto Christian. The crimson liquid moved as if controlled, finding his wounds and instantly drying overtop of them, like large scabs.

Her panicked breathing was causing her to exhaust herself quickly, before she looked up, seeing one of the massive creatures surging towards her out of the darkness. She tried to scramble backwards, not moving fast enough as it stepped over Christian and it's large hand slammed against her, sending her rolling backwards. She was able to see uncle Groin charging forwards, eyes screaming murder as he ran to help her, but her own ability to stand and move was dying. Her vision got foggy, and she slowly saw blackness overtake it, falling unconscious.

Christian safe, and the child hero pulled out of harms way soon enough, the rest of the attack was simple to fend off. Neal tended to each of them, no major casualties came from the battle.

Binkle was riding a high afterwards, all of the adults nodding to her, treating her with respect. She had earned back all the time and resources they had sunk into her, and while it would be a little longer before they tasked her with the labor of fighting and combat, she was respected as an equal.

  9. Has anyone else mentioned why the anima pruning is always trash? It says it's based on Lil Neil's plant skill, which is less than 1. So, that's why. He's the social character, but the pruning ritual needs to be done by the plants character.

  10. Everyone is so quick to lay the blame squarely on Lil' Neil, genetically engineered to be as docile and submissive as possible, when count Retsab is right there as his sly dommy vampire mommy.
She's the one who keeps pulling her darling catboy-husband to the bed by his proverbial leash; She's the one who leg-locks him every time; She's the one who whispers honeyed words to him every night.
It's no wonder the guy can't keep it in his pants; She's like the one ring at Mt.Doom to him; Who can blame him for falling to such overwhelming power, when anyone else would have fallen themselves.
Poor boy never stood a chance.

  11. Even when an area is set to "Permanent X" the planet actually still goes through seasons anyway, during an ice age it'll get warmer during the summer, extra cold in the winter.

I guess it kinda shouldn't since the sun is gone here but…eh who cares, it's magic! Probably!
