For and ordinary consumer like me (not wealthy) buying a new EV looks rather like a reckless act of financial self-harm.
Why would anyone have any faith that governments could control production of anything? Is there an example where attempts like this (I'm thinking along the lines of five year plans) have had any long-term success?
Soon we’ll be like Cuba, driving 50 year old cars
The problem is with a FORCED adaption of EV's and the fact that NONE of the technological or infrastructures associated with these vehicles is anywhere near mature enough to support their practical use on the mass scale being attempted here.
This is a slow motion disaster playing out here, and the end result will be a general public that will absolutely reject forward thinking technology once enough of them have been burned (no pun intended) by the current crop of EV's being dishonestly represented to them.
Once a large enough percentage of "early adapters"……relatively wealthy novelty seekers have experienced the enormous repair costs, the limited ability to have these cars serviced, traffic jams caused by people without money, pushing their degrading batteries to the absolute limit, very high insurance premiums, cars bricking themselves for either no or nonsensical reasons…and unfortunately stories of entire families being incinerated while just going about their daily lives, the tide will turn hard AGAINST these things, big time.
I'm not speculating here, these are all hard truths associated with the current technology being used in these cars.
The people lying about the issues these cars have, and the ones keeping their heads in the sand, are the worst enemy the EV movement could possibly have. It's almost like a death cult is calling the shots for them.
Recognizing limitations and slow, steady evolution is the way forward…not the clusterfuck currently playing out.
Remove all the tax breaks, subsidy on cars, subsidy on charging, grants, company tax advantages, 0% finance, leave it to the market to decide and no one would ever buy one of these hideous turds!
The return of the plugged in hybrid PHEV with modern battery and optimised system working in better synergy is logical: why carrying 1000 lbs of batteries to go 10 miles to the supermarket to buy 20 lbs of groceries while a small 50 miles battery for a lighter car can do the job better and the Atkinson Otto thermal engine and 12 gallons fuel tank but no gear box is much lighter than heavy battery for 250 miles…the PHEV is so more efficent than similar BEV’s , can run full electric mode within urban areas, is easy to recharge with an appliance plug and does not struggle with poor autonomy or charger unavailability, with for the planet only 1/6 of the lithium of a BEV required..Meanwhile beyond those 50 miles. it is still good third more fuel efficient than a similar conventional thermal car with deceleration and downhill energy recovery, so it became the best of both world and so, no wonder Mazda Honda BYD MG GM all try to imitate Toyota planning on 42% more hybrid sold 2024 than 2023 and while prices are high and not dropping like EV, much less depreciation can be anticipated. Moreover used EV can be impossible to resell, trade in are being refused etc..
9 minutes and 45 seconds later you could have simply just said EVs are a failure. The market is DOA. You could have also added that EV buyers are morons
Have you ever heard of the major rules doctrine or the non delegation doctrine?
Those rules set by the house says that they are not.allowed to let 3 letter alphabet agencies given themselves and create laws and rules enforceable by law which is exactly what they are doing. Most individual cases faught against the ATF, EPA etc are won by the defendant when they see it through. However the alphabet agencies see more wins because defenders normally agree to a plee deal.
Stop letting the agencies control us that nobody voted for or agreed to. Stand up!
No there no hesitant sbout new technologies, there running from failed technologies
These start ups should have built cheap durable gas powered pick up trucks and made billions.
Drop the background music….it's very annoying when trying to concentrate on your narration……..thankyou………….. (hard of hearing).
Like cell phones.Use them throw away. 2013 Chevy Avalanche got 17,000 for trade-in.Try that with an EV,after 12yrs.
Insurance costs are unreasonably high, exceeding $220 per month. Additionally, registration fees total over $500 annually. The resale value of electric vehicles drops significantly after just 3 years, making it challenging to find a buyer. Battery issues often arise during winter months, and the low mileage range necessitates frequent tire replacements every 20K miles. Ideally, the mileage range should be at least 400 miles per charge. Planning travel routes around charging stations adds an extra layer of inconvenience. Considering all these factors, it is clear that now is not the time for electric vehicles. Perhaps in 5 years, the market will be more favorable. Although I enjoyed driving a demo Model Y performance with my family, my current circumstances do not warrant purchasing a Tesla car at this time.
If your stupid enough to buy a EV keep the windows down bcz when it catches on fire you can climb out the windows!
All of these companies will be pennies stocks it's done
I don't know why everybody thought there was going to be this futuristic revolution in electric cars what was going to sweep the nation. Right from the start, it was obvious to me, that this would never happen. Electric cars have too many drawbacks
Who wants the complicated junk? Bullock-cart is the best.
I just dumped all my shares in Tesla and my ev 🚗 😅😊🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺
If the EV was a viable solution, the government wouldnt need mandates and legislation to force their sale.
This is the market in action. People don’t want EV’S. they are doomed. This is going to cost the car industry so much money. Some won’t survive.
If im going to buy a car i want a good warrenty that will stand up in 2004 i bought a honda civic and it made a terrible whinning noise we told them it might be the engine they replaced it with a new engine no problem is it going to be as easy replacing a new battery if it doesnt live up to expectations and in the future you might not even be able to deal with it through a dealer i dont trust dealing directly through a company i dont trust them
Musk should change his name to ‘Holmes’, and call his car ‘Theranos’. It is not a pollution-free product, just pollution-free where it is used. The manufacture and the powering of these vehicles are very much a blight on the environment.🤨🤬🤮
It's totally their own fault.Going in headfirst is not the way to do business . They do market Research on everything else .Where is the evidence they did this time . If people were given the facts they would never have got off the ground 😮
Thank u Obama
The flaw in the argument by ev makers is that the middle classes have not readily accepted the new technologies… insulting to blame the customer like this. Perhaps the technology does not deliver, doesn’t do as advertised or is simply too expensive. But please , EV makers keep blaming the customer for not buying your product, that always seems to bring them over to your side. And of course for those CEOs , don’t forget to ruin your workers and take your millions in bonuses. History will judge you as I do.
EVs are one big con. All set up by the rich and the government's. They tried to brainwash us it's a green agenda. When in fact from production to running them are far worse for the environment.
EV are not practical, plus, no one wants the limitations. — If you want a cheap EV, just go to the junkyard
and get your neighbors EV for free. —
There will be a handful of manufacturers throughout the world, others will disappear within five years.
Is it about saving the planet or getting even more people rich? It's like putting people on the Moon: 50 years ago we didn't have the technology and we did it, today we have the technology but it's too expensive. We'll destroy our planet before something is done. 😂
This is what happens when you believe your own bullshit. A cursory analysis of the EV buying demographic would have shown the car manufacturers that EVs are primarily bought by woke, climate alarmist, virtue signalling twonks. Clearly these are limited in number, and all those people have already gotten their EVs long ago. Probably regretting it; half of all EV buyers go back to an ICE because they can't stand their EVs. The rest of the car buying public (>93%) are not interested in an EV anyway.
This is what happens when the public wise up to a completely un necessary industry built on one of the biggest scams in history….'climate change'
How they are trying to wipe out the middle class! EVs! Are they rich enough to afford the depreciation?
how are raw material prices high when they have actually crashed big time
Middle class is not hesitant about new technology. Most of them are not fools falling for the EV bullsh1t.
This is where the saying "if you build it, they will come" went wrong😂😂😂
what if Musk sold all his shears and leaves Tesla
"China will be the dominant global player in the transportation sectors of the future." ~Bloomberg Technology
When you sell a product that people do not want you deserve to lose money and go out of business.
This is 100 % the fault of government legislation and taxpayer-funded subsidies, without which this mess could never have happened. Let this be a lesson to us all. This is not the first time massive amounts of public money have been wasted by central governments and it won't be the last if the people don't stop them. Wise investment is the secret to a brighter future. Or children will suffer from this criminal waste of capital.
Without government hand outs EVs makers will all go bankrupt .
Good riddance.
