Disney’s Theme Parks have changed over the past few years and it’s showing. Attraction reliability has gone downhill, more negative guests are showing up and prices are expensive. It’s basically hard to not see all the things going on at Disney Parks and that’s what I’m here to talk about. In this episode of Watersurf’s Side Tangent, I take a deep dive into the pre and post pandemic parks with a heavy focus on Disneyland. I discuss the attractions, guests (and social media) as well as cast members and even the future of the parks all from my own perspective. I also used to work at the parks so I am using some of my insight to help explain why some of these changes are in place on a surface level and from the perspective of a former attractons cast member. So, give that yellow tab a tug and let’s dive into this special episode of my side tangent series.

Please be aware that the information in this video may not be entirely accurate due to changes over time. This content does not reflect the views or opinions of the Walt Disney Company; it is solely my perspective. I distinguish between what I have personally observed and what I have heard, based on past experiences, and not indicative of the current happenings at the parks, except for any future speculations mentioned. This video is intended to express my opinions on the present condition of the parks and my aspirations for their future enhancements. It is important that Disney is accountable to the standards they profess, and this video serves as a critique of the parks’ present state. Additionally, I urge visitors to the parks to act responsibly and adhere to the guidelines, as many issues with attractions are often due to guest behavior. Thank you.

TL;DW: Disney Parks are on the decline in quality due to negative guests, pandemic changes, and higher prices. I explained a bit from a former attractions cast member and gave some of my own opinions on the parks as a whole. Negative guests are unfortunately a bigger problem than they used to be (and this isn't exclusive to theme parks either) and they are part of the reasons attraction reliability has been down. Social media makes it seem like everything is doom and gloom at the parks but it's not really the case as most days it's just business as usual with the small hiccups from attractions actually having technical issues. Attractions are machines at the end of the day and running them all the time makes them give way so sometimes they need a break. Lastly, corporate greed is showing with the higher prices and removal of free stuff but I hopeful that the upcoming changes will fix some of these mistakes and not just sweep older stuff under the rug.
Just a note, I still think Disney Parks are fantastic but their quality has slipped over the years and it's showing. I made this video to give an insight for those who aren't really going on the daily but also to raise awareness. I have no idea how it's ran on a corporate level but the little things are what normal peons like you and me notice.
