The Ultimate Persona 4 Analysis.

Welcome to the Persona 4 analysis. Persona 4 Golden is a videogame I’ve spent the last year researching, rewriting, replaying and trying to understand, and a game that I think offers a lot for introspection. P4 and by extension P4G spawned countless spinoffs from the Persona 4 Anime to Persona 4 Arena, to P4AU and so forth. Today we just talk about the original game, with as much context as I can afford, for a game historically lacking easy context- all lost in translation. As this is an in depth analysis; huge spoilers, obviously.

Please Youtube, let this longform videogame analysis be recognized. This is the most substantial piece of work I have ever done, and it took so many hours and so much of my life. Persona 4, forever.

  1. I just wanted to let you know that this might unironically be my favorite singular YouTube video. I’ve gotten so much insight about the game from this that allowed me to develop my own thoughts about myself and realize certain things about my life and I’m only halfway through. This content is so valuable to not just me specifically but the world at large. These games and their stories are instrumental in people having hopes for themselves in the modern world and you’re certainly ahead of your time and very needed.

  2. Please don't take this the wrong way, I mean this as lovingly as possible, but I'm so glad Tim Rogers has empowered more people to make absurdly lengthy somewhat unhinged reviews.

I've watched a lot of your other videos and I felt this coming at some point, but I didn't expect a 15 hour video. I will be watching this over the next week for sure

  3. Just started playing persona 5 royal, and this video hits my feed right on time! I love long form video content, and to find one this long and in depth on a game series that is quickly becoming a fav of mine is great! Thank you so much for a brilliant video and analysis of P4G!

  4. One of, if not the best longform content I’ve seen in my life. I’ve been following since your color analysis video, and your work is really something special. Your passion for this is so clear and contagious.

  5. one point, teddy final persona is shaped like the final attack of pretty much all early sentai in a far more defined way than the other, much more generic in form, reconnecting him to his 'being born out of the tv world' and his general "for kids" original appearence,

  6. Yes! I've recently started watching your videos, and when you said you would compile all of them, I tried to watch most of them individually to finish with this one. Thank you so much for your hard work on all of your content. It would break my heart when you would speak about troubles from the past or insecurities, so I just wanted you to know that we all are really happy and with your content. And I hope everything goes well for you in the future!

  7. Hearing the tale of Izanagi and Izamani interpreted this way is interesting. Looking at it as a metaphor for being hidden from the truth is pretty compared to to “hey I’m not comfortable with you seeing me dead please don’t light a light while I talk to the death god.”
“did you say something? Oh it’s dark light time- AAAHHHHH”
