  1. I mean… use it for What? Hunting? Spear, better than the estoc for all intents and purposes other than those in which a dagger (or claws and fangs) would be the better choice.

War against humanoids? Literally anything will do the job, why limit yourself to a weapon that's only really useful for thrusting though? It's lightness wont really help a superstrong vampire much, certainly not enough to lose the ability to cut stuff.

Against other vampires? Clearly they would want a wood or silver plated blade, unless you can just use anything just as easily in which case a longsword seems the better choice as its flexible in being able to thrust, slash/cut or deliver blunt strikes and likewise its good for fighting at the edge of one's reach, mid or up close with the right handling. It is Alucard's weapon for a reason. (nevermind that he's all extra with making it fly around).

  2. Only thing missing is the Estoc being modified like a mosquito mouth and a reservoir for the blood extracted from the target. Arguably more effective bleeding out prey when stabbing the heart 😂

  3. I would say it really depends on the vampire, for example, Alucard from the Castlevania franchise. There’s three different versions of him.

Alucard from the main timeline of games uses the “Alucard Sword” which is a weapon his mother Lisa gave him. Which the from Lisa’s side would’ve been used by holy knights, which makes it better for fighting against night creatures. That sword mixed with the magical training Alucard would’ve gotten from his dad, and the fact that he would’ve also been taught hand to hand combat by his dad (given that Dracula was a knight before he became a vampire). So the mixture of the three would make him rather powerful.

Alucard/Trevor Belmont for Lords of Shadow uses some of the same sets of skills, trained by knights and got his father’s magic when he became Alucard. As far as weapons go, he used/uses 3 weapons. He used the whip, Dark Pain, which was just a dark mockery of his old primary weapon the Combat Cross when he was still Trevor Belmont. Then he used the Masamune. He really only used that weapon to help with a disguise, and even then it still wasn’t his primary weapon. Then the weapon that he actually uses is the Crissaegrim, which is so far the only weapon that can actually kill Dracula due to it using a piece of Gabriel’s old weapon, the Vampire Killer whip. It also holds the abilities of two other swords that he essentially melted down to be used to make the Crissaegrim. And it just makes sense for the Crissaegrim to be the most powerful weapon as even with the original timeline Alucard, the Crissaegrim is still one of the strongest weapons he has/had.

Then there’s the Netflix Alucard, who like all of the other characters in the show, is your far the weakest. He uses a sword…and some magic I suppose. Which, we can only assume that the sword still came from his mothers side of the family, but given everything they changed about…well…everybody, I doubt that. Really the only things they got right about Alucard was how old he was, who his parents were and that he was in no way comparable to his father in terms of strength and speed. But hey, I guess powering everybody down by a massive degree is fine I suppose.

  4. And I don't get why vampires won't start grafting a piece of metal plate into their flesh just outside of their heart. Imagine someone going for that state thrust after carefully stripping away the vampire's armor only to stab onto that plate and the stake snaps. It's not like it's going to hurt the vampire.

  5. But it's a great sword not an estoc. It's just the angle that makes it look like the estoc. The hilt is the same as all the other depictions of the parasite blade. In the teeth of the akoum it's described as a large greatsword. Sorry. Great idea but I'd look more at the vampires from ixolon

  6. A man of culture with that Sorin card. I think it looks thicker in Sorin's Veangeance, but I could be wrong. Hell I could bebwrong about the card name. It did 10 damage and healed you 10 and was Sorin impaling some poor sap onto a wall with a sword.

  7. Even though this will most likely not be read but I disagree. I believe that vampires would use more blunt force weapons like war hammers to make sure they keep as much blood inside the human body. And with most vampire in fantasy settings being sadist they would be fine with crushing someone’s bones and making them bleed out
