  1. "For those who know what a CD is." Conflab spoiled kids! In *my* day, all our computer games came on floppy disks! The sounds were just bips and boops from a basic onboard speaker, and we were lucky if the games could display 16 colors at the same time!

  2. I really dislike the district thingy they use for every pack, it makes sense in some of the uses (like defining a park area), but really it feels like they use it because it's easier for them and they're being lazy. Not being able to mix them really limits possibilities.

And I get them only adding things compatible with base game, but again it would be a great service to player if they added some cross-compatible items as well. Adding something that works with trams and monorails would be fantastic and reduce a lot of issues! It might also encourage buying those older packs for new players, for instance I mainly use the trams from the snow dlc (forgot the name) and recommended it to new players based on that– because trams are very common in Europe. However with the trams not being properly usable in pedestrian parts I'm less likely to use trams, and will be less likely to recommend that pack…

I feel in the past they added packs to improve on the game and I felt the dlc was really worth it as they added a lot of functions, but now I feel they break a lot of stuff and just adds more things for modders to fix…

  3. I've only had a short time with Plazas and Promenades. If I go down to a first person view and start a walk though a pedestrianised area, my character can't walk between the bollards protecting a pedestrianised zone and has to walk around them. I can't apply a pedestrianised zone inside a Campus area, which is a pity as many Uni's have large traffic free plazas and footpaths. Sometimes I've had the game crash which is corrected by a game cache flush, most irritating the first time it happened after several hours of play. But, hey its early days yet and hopefully patches will correct some of this.

  4. Is anyone facing a garbage collection issue? I have a harbor in my pedestrian area and the garbage is acumulating, even though i have a big garbage center far away, which indicates 0 trucks on use/ 20 trucks total. Is it a problem within the dlc, or am i doing wrong?

  5. The thing that really irritates me about these pedestrian areas, is that they almost all suffer "Not enough goods to sell" error messages before buildings get abandoned – even when you have multiple service points, decent traffic flow, loads of industrial areas, all while regular non-pedestrian commercial areas remain mostly unaffected. It almost ruins the game to be honest, especially when you have a big city, because the game just gives you that error message and expects you to somehow comb your possibly 25+ tile map and figure out what the problem is. This is most unrealistic of course, and is analogous to a mayor having literally no advisors explaining why something isn't working. Surely the game could just highlight something like "There is a problem at this junction" for example.

  6. Actually, about traffic impact, I've found that reducing the amount of ways cars/trucks can travel through a neighborhood and pedestrianizing key streets has been super helpful in reducing traffic. Though this wasn't with the Plazas and Promenades DLC, this was just with some custom roads and TMPE. I guess the concept of reduced demand applies in Cities Skylines too lol

Instead of placing fence to prevent zoning near express bus roads, you can place a some pedestrian path from landscape menuInstead of placing fence to prevent zoning near express bus roads, you can place a some pedestrian path from landscape menu

  8. Hi There! For the buildings to work in the peds area you need small peds services building, but I can't get the garbage truck pass through to collect trash and it's piling up now. Do you know how to fix it? Thank you so much

  9. Hi City Planner! Great channel! Quick question though: where did you get the beautiful modern city center style buildings? Could you post a link to your style collections perhaps? Tried looking for it on your discord channel but with no success. Thank you in advance!

  10. Perhaps i missed it, but is it possible to do a pedestrian zone without pedestrian roads and with service points functioning?
And does the service points function if you build the buildings far away from the main area as long as its connected with pedestrian zone?
