The Track Truck makes its first rescue!

The track truck finally goes to work, and this first job is the PERFECT example of why I wanted to switch to the heavier vehicle for off road and snow recovery. The Jeep and @AmericanTrackTruck Dominators never failed me, and those tracks held up to far more than they were ever meant to. Switching brands was purely because I found a Facebook marketplace deal on the @mattracks that I couldn’t pass up, and were weight rated for the Dodge that I’ve been wanting to put tracks on for quite awhile now.
Nate at @elitefleetautomotive9181 built a hydro assist steering setup for it that is working great and other than that, the tracks were bolt on and go

Be sure to check out our Patreon project where we use whatever it brings in in a month as our budget to help someone the following month! I was never a fan of the Patreon idea until I realized that I can use it to help others instead of myself, so I created the Patreon Project where we can all combine our efforts to make a real difference in people’s lives and make the world a better place! For as little as a dollar a month you can join the group of awesome people already on board and be vote to help steer the ship along the way!

  1. 🤔🤔🤔and the answer is……… IF Grumpy gets a play-date with Casey, isn't he going to be a whole lot "happier" when he's home around Mrs Grumpy??!! Absolutely!! Go have FUN!!🙃 Mrs G

  2. Casey, quick educations question for myself. Why not let those snatches roll when you're only hooking them single? And do you have a chattering of the contactors issue with the apex when you're away from the winch with the remote?

  3. Hi Cassey,
Love the channel and content. And all the help and coments from Grumpy.
One question for you. Did you ever get you tandem axel Rollback back in service? Or did I miss that one. I have a chance at getting a Rollback like your first one you bought in California. By the way that was a great you tube adventure.
You and your group take care and be safe out there doing what you do best.

  4. Don’t know if I have missed one of the videos of an explanation or not but I noticed you run the winch line is ran through both recovery rings instead of around it, I know it can be used either way but is there a reason why or is it just personal preference?

  5. I've been climbing trees roping and rigging them down for 28 years .I can't understand why you wouldn't just use a traditional snatch block with bearings versus using that friction pulley. I just watched Fab rats do a recovery the other day pulling out a truck with a trailer you could hear that thing causing so much friction resistance. The more harder you pull on that ring the more the soft shackles squeezed down on the ring creating resistance. Fab rats pulled so hard started making all kinds of noises and I work with ropes all the time you would never hear that with a snatch block it created so much resistance with his it snapped his wench line those are junk . The guy makes a good rope doesn't mean his ring works 😂

  6. Good work out there in the brush Casey. I ordered two Yankum off-set rings for my self-recovery setup. I use a little Warn drill winch, so I really need the force multiplier of several snatch blocks. Two light rings vs 4 heavy snatch blocks will really simplify my rigging! Yankum has a buy one get 30% off the second deal going too.

  7. За заднее колесо тянуть было лишнее. Чисто набить время видео. Сдал назад и тянеш лебедкой. Он колёсами помогает.

  8. Something i just recently figured out on my 2015 ram is for true 4×4 , hold the traction control button longer until tcs shuts off. Im sure you knew that already just wanted to let other people know.

  9. So awesome to see the offical first track truck rescue. Indeed what a weird winter for Oregon. Awesome strategy pulling this heavy Dodge Ram out of the ditch and bank. Definitely gotta watch the slope and corners on these forest roads in the snow especially. Yikes Ethan that adventure got wild! Casey that was an awesome assist getting Grumpy into the truck. Which is sooo amazing on tracks! That truck sure keeps on trucking!

  10. I wonder how well an excursion with tracks would do especially with a safe tuned 6.0. you would have way more torque to turn the track. Have room for gear and more crew. That would be a wild set up.
Even a v10 super duty I think would be a little more of a power boost while not adding a bunch of weight

  11. Both ropes should be going threw the pulleys, not the way u have it rigged threw the center of the doughnuts, ur just doubled back to ur same vector point and anchor point, which is totally fine as long as as it's a big enough anchor and if u gotta joing anchors to other anchors when it comes to geometry and vetor off vetor thats fine aswell when u domt have a big enough base anchor. I like those small doughnut shive rings, they r sweet. Don't have to haul around big giant have shive blocks. Expicailly when ur doing all the work or with limited man power. That's technically only 2to1, Coming from a certified rigger, rope access and rescue tech. And red neck lol. Which it worked just fine. But u never doubled the rope back threw either pulley "technically" u just redirected it back threw from the stuck truck back to the same base anchor/vector anchor
