  1. Continuing the tradition of people not being able to mention Horizon without mentioning Elden Rings or BotW in the same breath

Yes those games obviously are always said to be better, thats not the statement made here

  2. Jacob's fear of Cold video has inspired my D&D campaign running Rime of the Frostmaiden. hard to believe it was nearly a year ago now… thanks for the recommendations Jacob! always nice to find a new favorite game when I watch.

  3. Hey Jacob I have been an more or less active viewer in the last year. Due to ADHD and me being a zoomer I have a pretty low attention span. I have tried to watch old films (1950) but always lacked the patience, although I love literature. My Taste in Video games is more action focused than anything else in the contrast to you who searches for deeper, hidden motives and meanings and I love you for that. But do you ever just have the primal fun of "Thing Go Boooom". In my wildest dreams, I couldn't imagine you playing something lile Just Cause or Teardown. Sorry for my english in advance.

  4. Just recently got notification my poster shipped. Took em a while, but I'm looking forward to it decorating my wall. You're right, it's a damned good piece of art!

  5. This was a really great year for games if you play indis. Triple A Wise it was a bit top heavy with Elder Ring, Horizon, GOW and Bayonetta 3….But with Sifu, Rogue Legacy 2, Neon White, Signalis, Cult of Lamb, Stray, Tunic and TMNT it was actually pretty good

  6. For me the best 2022 game is Hyper Demon, and Devil Daggers too tho not released this year
Best MP game, tho not released this year, Deep Rock Galactic is just the best (also not predatory, has a free battlepass)

  7. I am glad Signalis is getting the love it deserves, especially alongside its contemporaries like Faith: The Unholy Trinity and especially against the truly half-assed AAA horror games (RE Village DLC, The Callisto Protocol). Signalis is magical despite it being full of mystery box tropes and Myst-style puzzles. It reminds me of playing Silent Hill as a kid. Remembering what true horror felt like.

  8. Back when the original Stanley Parable came out (the standalone, not the source mod) I remember that I loved the demo but felt underwhelmed by the main game itself, so it was kinda shocking when Ultra Deluxe somehow ended up being exactly what I originally wanted the game to be, even tho I can't put into words what that was.
It's probably one of those games that I'd definitely recommend to everyone but struggle to explain why beyond "it's the most game that has ever been", it's like an essay on game narratives told through the narrative of a game.

  9. I crushed up Elden Ring into a fine powder, poured it into a bag and hooked that shit straight into my veins for 160 hours, then I got to the run of final bosses and just… stopped.

It was like an amazing 12 course meal that I couldn't stop eating, but by the time the waiter brought out the final dish, I was ready to burst. I wish I didn't eat it so quickly, because it was the best meal I've ever had, and I was so close to the finish line.

… now I'm mixing metaphors but whatever

  10. JACOB. please tell me where that quote in the first line of the description is from, or if you wrote it yourself? Because it's so bloody evocative, and thematically similar to a thing that I've been writing, that it sent a chill down my spine.
