Wrong. Aircraft did. Tanks had been around in various forms since the battering ram. As soon as aircraft focused on killing tanks, and there logistics, name a war, campaign or even battle won by a tank army vs an enemy with air superiority? Look at the tank losses, and tank losses to airpower in wars. The battle of the bulge showed tanks deficiencies and vulnerabilities that have only got worse. Rommel was hammered by air power in the desert and Normandy. In the Arab isreali wars and gulf war, it was great in a tank as long as it was not an Arab or Iraqi tank, they got smoked. The golden age of tanks was 1930 to 1943.

On December 24th, 1915, a meeting took place of the Inter-Departmental Conference (including representatives of the Director of Naval Construction's Committee, the Admiralty, the Ministry of Munitions, and the War Office in the UK). Its purpose was to discuss the progress of the plans for what were described as "Caterpillar Machine Gun Destroyers or Land Cruisers." The rest is, history. Well, quite a lot of it which is why we have this great little documentary. Enjoy!
There were plans to bomb the rivers between Russia and China to stop supplies and the mobility of both Russia and China. General MacArthur was an advocate for this plan. Truman and the allies were also against the use of the “bomb”!

In ancient times you had knights in their heavy armor on big horses now you have tanks which are modern knights.

The Maus was crazy, the Tiger 1 and Tiger 2 had proved almost useles as their lack of mobility severely hampered operations. Most Tigers were abandoned when they broke down, which was very often. Maus could easily have been destroyed by the 32 Pounder gun mounted in the A39 Tortoise, six had been built in 1945, but it was cancelled as the war ended.
The number one killer of tanks are their own crews after being unable to salvage them, AT weapons that can be operated by infantry, and artillery with Good – Fire Control, Management, and Fire Coordination Systems. AND ESPECIALLY **Land Mines**!
You can never have too many tanks.
I thought this video was about the tank. Other than a short mention of the Sherman it seems this video was only about European tanks.
