I love the fact that even a throwaway character like kenji gets a whole character arc one of my favourite things about the game 👍
Kenji is the character in a movie or tv show you’d expect to betray and backstab the main characters for either self gain or self preservation but he’s everything other than that. This game is fantastic and every one of the side characters are well fleshed out.

Kenji imo is a character that upon first introduction you don’t like but at the end of the game can’t help but love. Maybe I’ve had too much of his Sake

This means that iki island has to be after the story, because no way Kenji would go to the mainland in act 2, as he would serve Shimura and help because of taka.
I remember the first time I played the iki island ghost of iki expansion side quest,I was so surprised when Jin said “you” and it was kenj!
