Brian Robson attempted to mail himself home to save on the cost of airfare. He very nearly died in the process.

Waldo Jeffers – Velvet Underground 1966.
Damn, people are getting desperate to escape Australia.
It was before the internet and most Australians could not read anyways back in 1965
Absolute Mad Lad
Why didn't he just overstay his visa?
Hey it worked, he didn't pay the regular fare
Thanks for the Manchester United memories, Bryan 😏
I have some questions for his friends
That's the guy from the Inbetweeners
They shipped him back to UK? I thought he was shipped from Australia.
Damn. He lived? Wow! Can you imagine? Horrifying. FOUR DAYS? Four entire days in that cold as hell warehouse!? I heard about this somewhere else but heard that he died. I could be confusing this one with another dude who MAILED himself as a joke and did die. Crazy.
Oh wow lucky he survived
He wanted to touch the green green grass of home
Dumb idea. Cargo holds on most jets are not pressurized which means hypoxia then death.
I'm just seeing a black and white of Neil from inbetweeners
So he’s the mfkr making my Amazon deliveries late
As a Boro fan I didn't realise our former manager had such a fascinating background
Thought this was going to be a weird story about how he lost his legs?? Yeah I'm such an idiot 🤔
And this young man ultimately became the CEO of Spirit Air.
Shipped back to the UK with the best dental treatment ever. Lucky him.
🙂
I think this is a fake story. He couldn't survive the cargo space.
He would not have frozen to death on a flight from LA to the UK. He didn't on his flight from Australia to LA. The plane is an excluded tube. If passengers have air and warmth, so does the luggage.
I'm just glad he survived. I honestly thought this was going to end with him dying horribly.
Reminds me of the song "The Gift" by The Velvet Underground. You can find it on YT.
So he was locked in a crate with his own poop and pee, wonder how he handled that situation.
JEEZ!!!!
Oh no.
Edit: Oh good.
Looks like Neil from the inbetweeners
It was 1965. If the friends who made the box could’ve given him $10 each, he probably would’ve had enough for an airline ticket.
The posterior insertion of a dead budgie has the same power as sentient steamy cleavage
Also in 1965 when he did that, business class ticket from Australia to Wales was 10 dollars…
Not so smart…lucky he survived…
Crate vid.
He should have gone on a passenger ship like Titanic
The squirrel that got up after getting hit by a truck…shakes it off
Even I'm the photo looks like a corpse, with a smile.
On the early 1900s on the US, [people actually mailed their kids. There are pictures to prove it.
Doesn't really make sense, if he had friends I'm sure they could have pitched in for one plane ticket instead of helping ship him in a box which wouldn't be much cheaper anyways
How very Welsh 😂 guy is an idiot and a legend
Wait, at the end you said he would've died had he actually been sent by air Mail to the UK, but he started in australia and ended up in Los Angeles. So if he didn't die traveling by Mail from Australia to the US, why would he have died going to the UK?
Idiot behaviour glad he’s ok tho
Should've used the envelope like I suggested
