  1. while I didn't know about this story. I used work on NPS land with a partner nonprofit. And at times would lock the gates at night, if was never fun to see a car in the lot. Because the wrost 3 options where someone got hurt hiking or fishing, fowlplay, or suicide. One of our groundskeepers had the misfortune of finding 2 different of the latter.

  2. I have heard so many stories about people going missing in national parks and I am glad that you tell this story. I hope that it helps people to be safer and maybe lay off the paranormal stuff. The worst monster in the woods is usually another person unfortunately.

  3. Yes, I remember this. We lived in Modesto at the time. It was a horrible crime spree by Cary Stayner. And the weird part is, my ex husband had worked with Cary in the glass business. He was in shock when he found out that Cary had committed these murders. Cary had lots of family issues, his brother was kidnapped years before by a pedophile. He managed to escape, and saved another child in the process. They even made a movie about it, I know my first name is Steven. Unfortunately his brother was killed in a motorcycle accident years later. So there seemed to be lots of tragedy following that family. Cary needs to spend the rest of his life locked up.

  4. Cary was 11 when Steven was taken. If Cary had violent fantasies at age 7, his psychopathy had nothing to do with his brother’s ordeal. I think this family had problems before Steven was taken.

  5. My husband and second son are both with the FBI. They work on call 24 hours a day including weekends and holidays. They often are away from home for long periods of time. They work hard and take cases very personally. I want people to know how hard they work.

  6. I love this channel, but I want to say that if you don’t know the money that leaves your account each month or is added to your credit card, you need a lot more than that app. You need a class on finance at the local community college. Also, you’re eliminating unwanted apps by adding an app and that’s just ridiculous.

  7. I just found your channel. I am familiar with this story but I didn't know about Carry's brother. I like the way you did this video so I immediately subscribed. I'm taking care of my cat who might be dying so I'd love to go with you to Yellowstone cuz I've always wanted to go but I have to stay with my buddy. He literally saved my life from some1 attacking me with a knife. So now I'm trying to save his

  8. The second half of the book "In the Name of the Children" by Jeffrey L. Rinek has detailed information about the case and interrogation, as he's the agent that conducted it.

  9. I really enjoy your content, but saying that you’re going to lighten the mood before you talk about brutal killings by giving us an ad is a little ridiculous and tacky. Trying to sell a shit from your sponsor isn’t lightening the mood at all bruh. Gross…

  10. Hi Kyle, once again you're an excellent narrator, who's made this complex case easy to follow and you've put the whole thing in to context.👏🏻 Please upload the story of Patricia Hicks, when you can. Also, through your narrative videos you're giving the wider world a chance to learn and listen about gruesome murders in rural America, which we wouldn't otherwise know about, so thanks again.🤗

  11. I've heard this story before and one of the things that stood out to me was why they opened the door and let this man in without checking with the front desk or whoever was managing the lodge. It was not made clear if it was Stainer. I'm not blaming the victims but it was something that bothered me. I also wondered if the police knew about what happened to Stainer's family. It was not said that they did. This information came out after he was arrested. And last but not least if there were any male victims of crime in the area that he might be tied to. Or whether or not Stainer was gay. I watched this video hoping these questions would be answered. I think it would be interesting if you would try to get interviews with the criminals that you do videos on, who are still alive, and who have been given life in prison without the possibility of parole.

  12. Imagine all of this from Steves perspective:
You go through Hell and after 7 years you think it is finaly over. You are back Home and the Healing can start.
Yes, it is not the same as before. In fact your relationship with your Brother is a bit rocky, but that is to be expected, right?

And than years later you learn that said Brother has become a Serial Killer, mostly out of jealousy of you!

  13. I remember this was a huge deal, murders aren't common up that way after all. I've visited the little memorial at the Vista point where the daughter was dumped, that spot was like 8 minutes from my old place

  14. On the Institute of Anatomy YouTube channel, there’s a video specifically about psychopathology and the brain. The doctor there said that both psychopaths and sociopaths, though they might have a propensity towards pathology, must experience a triggering traumatic event for the disorders to manifest themselves. Obviously the kidnapping of his brother would have been scary to the young boy, not to mention the sudden shift in the atmosphere of his family life. Cary may have been fantasizing about killing women at 7 years old, but if Steven had not been abducted, Cary might never have acted on the impulse.

  15. I remember when his brother Steven was reunited with father, mom & Cary, brother–if you can, try and google a picture of when Kyle was in the back ground as hundreds of people, news crews were there, everyone happy that Steven made it home after many years–In the background there is a picture a journalist captured & the look on Cary Stayner's face is bone-chilling. The smirk on Cary's face told me at that moment he made up his mind to supersede his brother's fame in a heinous way.
