The SPICIEST Shadow of the Erdtree Hot Takes

I would be disappointed if Shadow of the Erdtree came out and there weren’t enough hot takes to make this video. Thought it’d be a fun little throwback.

  1. You laughing about monkey ball means you know nothing. Monkey ball gets way harder than anything in any dark souls. By far. Monkey ball gets stupid hard. Especially if you try to get all bananas. Go do that come back and say its easy. Lol. You in for a nightmare. Monkeyball is literally lne of the hardest games there is.

  3. 12:11I want to take the bait too!
hes insane to call ds1 and ds2 harder than elden ring since you can just unlock the camera and every boss breaks and cant handle you plus the majority of the bosses in those games are on the level of a crucible knight/hornsent warrior generic in Elden Ring

He is technically right though that elden ring is THEORETICALLY easier than dark souls 3 since it has so many options for your build and summons etc. but thats also disingenuously ignoring that the bosses in elden ring are faster, hit harder with less downtime and generally take longer to kill than anything in dark souls 3 and if you are someone who doesnt use summons/cheese strats (nothing wrong with using them though, theyre fun!) it is absolutely a harder and more punishing game

  4. Yes, Sekiro is by far the hardest FromSoft game, nothing else even comes close. In literally ever other FromSoft game you can farm and make the game much easier, I don't even know how this was ever a discussion with people.

  5. My hot take is that Shadow Of The Erdtree combined with the base game of Elden Ring culminates together to make this game the best game in the entire series, right at the top of the Fromsoft catalogue. Things could have ofc been done better since no game is perfect, I personally think that the bosses in this DLC whilst still incredible were not on the same level of the bosses from the late game of Dark Souls 3 or Sekiro but that's of course my opinion, I think that nothing is going to top bosses like Slave Knight Gael or Owl Father. But Messmer, Dancing Lion, Rellana, Midra, Bayle and the others were still incredible and right up at the top with some of the best bosses in the series, there wasn't a single "bad" boss in this DLC besides maybe Gaius but that also just comes down to taste. Top tier, 10/10. A masterpiece.

  6. @actman twisted metal black on playstation is legit harder than elden ring.
But not for the reason most would think.

And I used to be able to bear the game on hard. Can't get through normal now almost if not 2 decades later.

  8. The silver larval tear is there for a reason…change and adapt.

I was a glass cannon mage for the entire game but when it came to Elden beast…the sheer range it operates from had me reshuffle so many points into vigor so I can last through the fight with the firepower I put out

  10. I've hit challenger in LoL … hit legend in hearthstone, hit grandmaster in starcraft and Heroes of the Storm. Did a lot of heroic/mythic raiding in WoW from WoTLK to Legion.

I've finished every single From Soft games, Skyrim, Witcher, RDR2 … mostly all the praised solo games …

And yet I think Elden Ring (especially the DLC) is the hardest of all those solo games to finish without cheese. What more can I do in the gaming world to not be considered a casual 😭😭😭

  11. Ps: listen I'm new to fromsoftware souls games, if I can beat morgott, run through the front gate of stormvial castle, beat godrick and progress to lernia with low health, you snowflakes can do it too 😂

  13. Not a hot take: Forced solo areas that are as large as they are in a open world game is garbage. Lack of 3v3 in pvp at the very least (aldrich pvp count should really be a staple especially considering the size of the areas in ER) is horrible. The base game had so many "filled" areas, noticed the DLC lacks alot of those. Turning the corner in the base game, you would always see something new to interact with. in the DLC as much as there is, I find turning the corner and seeing a stunning vista, but nothing to interact with. Continuing the "limited" resource forcing multiple playthrough is just bad, needs a QOL update, and has needed a change from day one ER. Something that needs to be changed at a fundamental level is the co-op. Enough of this (especially in a open world styled game) taking out a "boss" locking co-op when there is still plenty of things to do, not to mention pvping/fight clubs. We had to keep aldrich alive in DS3, can we stop that and just have co-op and pvp open at all times. Covenents…..like..why not? This game, considering the "factions" would be PERFECT for covenent based pvp and invasions. Serving Mohg, and trying to stop people from entering the palace. Serving Fia, and defending the deathbed from intruders. Serving the roundtable assassins would have been epic, getting jumped in the hold. Standing with Morgott, trying to stop other tarnished from getting to the tree. Etc, all having unique rewards for defeating hosts. The game is FANTASTIC and so is the DLC. Erdtree gameplay and story has been fantastic, but that does not exclude the problems. Most honestly have been issues since day one. Love this game, put my hours into this game and still am. But man Miyazaki's really gotta alter some things for next time.

  14. I'm pretty sure he just made this video so he could watch that troll but not to send a wave of hate towards him. My brain twisted when hearing what the dude said but I'm glad I had Mr. Actman to tell me what his intentions were!!

  15. 7:53 one of my friends is legitimately bad at sekiro but I kept replaying bosses until I found cheese strats for him and he was able to get the “all bosses” trophy 🤷‍♂️
