  1. Thanks a lot for an amazing video!!Since you are tracking performance real-time, I was wondering, whether it would be a good idea to add a robotic arm to clean the panel and do the power boost that would get triggered, say, when the performance declines by 10%

  4. All good.! Please add a point that Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited (TANGEDCO) will charge you fee for using the line(grid). Meaning even though we are consuming less than that of we produce in solar, we have to anyway pay the minimum amount to the Government.

This means government is pushing you to go with Battery powered solar in home.

  5. What nonsense this lady is talking! Solar revolution in Germany started not 5 years ago but 30 years ago, they practically invented the rooftop solar market. Electricity prices increased in Germany not because every one started using electricity to heat but Gas fired power plants determine the marginal cost of electricity as gas prices increased due to self imposed sanctions of gas on Russia. Plus there are a host of other factors as well. All the facts quoted are not accurate.

  6. I have slanting roof which is concrete , covered with tiles and it is a two storied building. I wonder how a panel can be installed without digging into the tiles/concrete . (i really don't like to dig on the concrete to install poles as tampering with roof concrete may cause seepage during monsoon). Also , maintenance is not easy and always require professionals to climb up such heights. wonder if there is any suggestions from users.

  7. Hello solar is a very great but when you do the net meter the local electricity supplies pays very less money and if you do not get subsidy you’ll get a little extra money from the net meeting and you should mention that in your episode

  8. 27:45 govt won't allow people to earn too much money from roof top solar because if they do that then we have to bring a law which is in europe. 'right to own sun shine' in usa you can not build a tall building near a society in close area because that building will take away right to own solar energy. in india nobody is talking about this issue.
lack of sun light creates health issues as well.

another reason why they won't allow us to produce more elecetricity is because they want energy producers like adani solar, tata solar to make money.

  10. Solar Power: A Path to Energy Independence for India

    Value Chain Dynamics
Stages: Polysilicon → Ingot → Wafer → Cell → Panel → System (group of panels).

    Current Control:
    China's Dominance:
Controls 90% of the value chain up to the wafer stage.
Covers over 80% of the downstream chain (cells, panels, systems).

    India’s Presence:
OEMs: Players like Waree, Tata, and Adani operate in cell and wafer production.
Installation & Services: Dominated by companies like Solar Square and other unorganized players.
Inverters: Completely imported from China and white-labeled in India.

    Cost Competitiveness
    Current Scenario:
Solar panel costs in India are 2x higher than in China due to China's overcapacity and economies of scale.

Excess Chinese supply is expected to stabilize global prices soon.

    Return on Investment (ROI):
Commercial Users: 1-year ROI due to high electricity tariffs and no subsidies.
    Residential Users: 3–5 years ROI.

Post-ROI, solar systems can deliver free energy for 20 years with regular maintenance (avoiding dust buildup, bird droppings, and sticky soil that can cause hotspots).

    India's Advantage & Leadership
Natural Advantage: Over 250 days of sunlight annually, making India ideal for solar energy.

Global Leadership: India spearheads the International Solar Alliance (ISA) to promote solar energy adoption worldwide.

    Net Metering & Grid Challenges
    Net Metering System:
Excess power generated during the day is sold to the Discom grid.
Consumers draw power from the grid at night, essentially using the grid as a virtual battery.

    Grid Modernization Needs:
Existing grids, designed 50 years ago, are struggling with today’s demands driven by appliances, IT systems, and EVs.
Upgrading grid infrastructure is expensive and complex. Most Discoms globally are non-profitable.

    Future Direction: Decentralized Power Generation
The solution lies in decentralized solar power plants, with panels installed at every home or business. This minimizes dependency on centralized grids, reduces transmission losses, and ensures resilience in energy supply.
