  2. In the comic, the baby talked. He just said "that's all I get?" and Death says "I'm afraid so". A comic has no sound, so you create it in your mind, but how do you put it on screen, and not have it be silly, like Stewie in Family Guy, y'know? I like how they handled it here, that Death can just telepathically understand baby talk.

  3. This was the episode that broke me, but not for the scenes with death which did it for many, I found those scenes beautifully brought through that peacefulness that Neil Gaiman was going for, I actually found myself tearing up when Dream admitted at the end that he finally considered the man a friend, it was a kind of sadness that Dream had never really had anyone he considered a friend for all that time until now, but again a happiness for the character that he finally had one and realised that. Damned amazing character work and just a beautiful all round episode of television.

  4. Hi Nikkie and Steven, great reaction vid. Been a fan for a long time. watching here in Dubai. You guys are the only people who are making me happy and forget that I am alone here and far away from my family. Have you guys seen the KINGDOM on Netflix? The Korean zombie film? That was a good show! Hope you could react to that. Looking forward to your reaction to that! more power to you guys! – Yuki

  5. Nikki & Steven: I've been waiting for this episode so I can tell you something of a connection to John Wick. Death in the Sandman comic books always tells people when she's walking away with that smile: "be seeing you". Kind of anonymous way of saying that she'd be back around for them someday to take them. They changed it for the TV series and she has yet to say it and says something like oh you'll see me. Now in John Wick for instance when he kills Vigo vigo's last words were" be seeing you John" & in John Wick 2 when he kills the deaf lady in the mirrored elevator she sign language her last words to him and John replies verbally and in Sign Language "yeah be seeing you". Remember that Keanu Reeves is a huge fan of John Constantine and will be reprising the role in a sequel. I think in John Wick that was a subtle nod to Sandman!!!!

  7. I don't know how many warnings have been given about the bonus (11th/12th) episodes at the end. They're great, but there's an animal scene, that while not graphic, will be difficult for Nikki. Just emotionally brace for it. The episodes are very much amazing, though.

  8. Just to let you know that Desire uses them/their, and their siblings refer to them as "sibling".

Nice reaction. Some good thoughts about it… I never really considered that Dream might be disappointed on Hob… to me, it was just that Shakespeare drew his attention at that moment.

But you could be right… Dream can be a bit judgemental.

Honestly… this version of Death gives me hope. This episode makes me feel all sorts of emotions, but I don't feel sad at all… it is… soothing I guess.
