The San-Ti explain their centuries-long plan of stopping scientific progression on earth to Jin Cheng (Jess Hong) and Thomas Wade (Liam Cunningham). While the scientific break down may seem a little complex, the San-Tiβs message is crystal clear: they will not be stopped. Maybe I shouldβve paid more attention in science class. Or not because Iβd be a San-Ti target? Either way, watch 3 Body Problem, only on Netflix!

Just imagine when they adapt the dimensional strike on solar system ^^
Easily has become my favorite show airing right now alongside with Krapopolis lol
Just seen this episode and it was both Amazing and terrifying at the same time.
The San Ti Ren should have sent a golden headset with an X rated version of the Sophon to every male on the planet. That would have seriously impacted scientific and technological output. Exploit the evolutionary urges of humanity.
Man there were so many thoughts I had when mike was reading little red riding hood to our lord.
1. How TF can you have an advanced species Years ahead of mankind, also have no concept of a lie? or know the difference between a story made from imagination and a lie? I thought that part was pretty dumb. Of course a species that smart would know what a story and a lie are.
2. Why did the alien species assume one man spoke for all of man kind? They just right out wanted to jump straight to genocide because of the words of one man. Any being with any shred of political knowledge wouldnβt jump straight to war because of the words of a single random person.
3. It basically felt like this alien species were an incredibly smart species of children with no tolerance for things they donβt understand
This is how realism works in the study of interstellar relations.
Can access higher dimensions and make photon a.i. but cant just leave their solar system. Lmao. Love the 3 body problem but the sci fi feels weird. Like all this high tech and they cant create some form of way to escape their solar system. They couldve just uploaded all their conciouness and storr somewhere safe and live in endless utopia.
well, according to this… San-Ti didn't evolve as fast as we had, but not because they lack the intellectual capabilities, only due to the fact that they had to restart at their planet over and over again… but that is not a problem for them anymore, they left their planet, they are on their way towards us and those disasters won't block their advancement. During their 400 year travel they can still advance their technology in their ships…. and obviously they are already ahead of us… so, even if they didn't send sophons here they will certainly be more advanced than us when they arrive… and to be honest, I don't think we will also advance that quickly as they say in the next 400 years. For example , we invented cars working with internal combustion more than 100 years ago and we still produce them more than electric cars… we sent the first man to space more than 60 years ago but didn't even reach the planet next to us with a manned mission yet, so I seriously doubt we can reach a point in 400 years where we can builds thousands of ships sending light years away to attack/colonize planets or find a way to defend us against such a technological power….
and lastly… I mean, who would build those 4 sophons with all their resourcea and send 2 of them here.. just to block the development of science… dude, blast a few nuclear bombs here that we already have at different parts of the world, that would send us back to middle ages…
Laugh in Imperial of Mankind
They could have just funded the religious groups.
Easy to defeat the Tri Solarans. Just build a space catapult on the moon and fling rocks at their fleet for the next 400 years. Good luck intercepting them all or not running into a speck of rock at high speed and blowing up your own ships. Or slowing down so slow that you take a million years to get to Earth.
asian girl explaining science to old white man with a beard, what's next: white man explain how big dicks work to black men or black man explains tennis to white man? shut up with the woke bs.
I'm sorry, but "We are going to kill your science" is the equivalent of "He was in the Amazon with my mom when she was researching spiders right before she died"
Such a stupid scene in such a stupid series
0:55 thats not completly correct, humanity had to start over after the Bronze Age Collapse. Civilisations rapidly declined due to environmental change, floods especially. It lasted for 400 years and only stopped with the iron age. It might not be as dramatic as living on a planet surrounded by 3 suns etc but still….. π€·ββ I won't even start with the point in time where humanity was on the brink of extinction.
Yo, is that Sophon?
The idea that "science" is the key to civilization is laughable.
They can make a tech that can disable science on a planet, but can't do development as fast as earth.
Wow, this is pretty cool, just don't cancel it.
so much BS from a science perspective
The show was enjoyable, but the glaring plot holes are galaxy-sized.
i love 'spooky action at a distance'. my favorite science term.
Really the aliens could have not answered π€·π½ββοΈ
shows like this should be ONLY done by HBO, because you never know wtf netflix will do when the show struggles
Hope the Two Buddy Problem don't ruin this the same way the last they did.
it is so stupid.
It wouldn't take a week for some Romanian to hack it.
Nonsensical unscience fiction.
amazing show. hope they do less of unnecessary drama or prolonging obvious things that hold absolutely zero suspense like the reason why the guy was chosen to be Wallfacer when Ye's message to use humour was bright as day
But Sophon cannot destroy God and God is on our side so we obviously win. π
All the aliens need to do is give us social media and high fructose corn syrup. Trust the process.
They have the technology to build a sophone BUT the don't know how to leave their solar system and terraform another planet.
They're lying. First they say that in four hundred years we will surpass they're technology and then they say they can harness power and dimensions beyond our imagination. And then they monologue about sending someone to stop science, basically revealing their plan? Something doesn't seem logical.
So why would a sentient subatomic super computer not pull a Skynet, terminate the San Ti and just invade earth itself. The idea of a subatomic supercomputer is nice, but also kind of a dumb loop hole, that just doesn't make a lot of sense.
I loved Wade in the books and he is absolutely based in this too.
Sprinked with real science, it makes the crux of a plot much more real. Existing in a higher plane than our is a terrifying notion, we can't interact with such entities but made of proton, the entity still follow the universe's speed limit
What a ridiculous premise. If they have such advanced tech, they could protect their home planet, move it, find a new one close by, build colonies in space, prevent the frequent cataclysmic events. So they wouldn't need us or the elaborate ruse. Also, it's full of debunked string theory nonsense.
if their technology is that advanced, please try another planet.
This is dogshit.
Thatβs true. We have already accelerated a proton to 99.9999991% the speed of light in the particle accelerator we have today.
