Colossians 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
2:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
Focus on these words:
“meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:”
These phrases are found in very similar to:
Ex 12:14, 17; Lev 23:36-37; 2 Chro 2:4; Ezekiel 45:17.
The ordinances were contained in the ceremonial law. Again see Ex 12:14, 17; Lev 23:36-37; 2 Chro 2:4; Ezekiel 45:17.
Therefore just because it says “sabbath days” that does not mean it necessarily includes The Seventh-Day Sabbath. Also if the 7th Day Sabbath is a ceremonial law, then why would he add one ceremonial law to the other nine moral laws in the Ten Commandments? Also with that question, why would he Institute a ceremonial law in creation about 2,000 years before the Mosaic law was given?
That makes no sense whatsoever.
The shadow was the ceremonial law being fulfilled in christ. Not The Seventh-Day Sabbath. Fact.
Hebrews 8:1 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;
8:2 A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.
8:3 For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.
Hebrews 10:1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.
The context of the shadows was the ceremonial law being fulfilled in Christ. Not the 7th Day Sabbath.
